Billy Rimmer was asking me about his Camaro. I am almost 100% that you could get a 70 series on a 15 inch wheel in 1969 on a SS. Correct?

i believe 15" only on Z/28

14x7 for SS

14x6 on base models

just a quick google search :-D

this would be for ''stock" or "stock appearing" of course :aok

one size up refer's to the letter size, ie sidewall say F 70 14 to a G 70 14 not the rim dia.

Ted and John have it.

69 base camaros had 14x6 with an E-78-14(F-70-14 optional)
69 ss's had 14x7 with an F-70-14
69 z28's had 15x7 with an E-70-15
69 copo's came stock with 14x7 F-70-14 unless you ordered copo 9737 sports car conversion package which included 15x7 rally's with E-70-15 rwl's amongst a few other things.

Billy,
I went with Wheel Vintiques type 62's from Summit. I think they were like $70 a piece if your going with steelies. If your looking for the real deals look for the XT or IF coded factory wheels. Here is a pic of the WV 62s next to an original XT. The height of the four "air gaps" from the center to the outer rim is about 1/8" shorter on the 62 vs. the original XT

for the asking $$$$ that original 12 bolts are you might want to look into an aftermarket. Mosers really decent. sold a few oe 12 bolt housings last year....i do have 4 series brute strength in great shape if anyone needs it 31 spline. and a 3 series gm carrier no spider gears.
cant go wrong with the wheel vintuques. wish i did that. i bought used IF wheels(9). By the time you blast and prep doesnt make sense.I know all this stuff ahead of time and i still buy the wrong crap.
plus the W.V are a littel lighter
Ryan

just remembered i have a friend in florida who bought a moser 12 complete for a67 firebird project he never did. hes selling car(cheap really nice!!) and has 12 bolt needing a home..

In the Camaro you can run a 10 bolt like Ted said. In the Nova you have to run the rear end available with the combo. The moser 12 bolt in the stock class may not be legal. It has to fit the rule criteria.

Stock Class Rule-
12.00 Rear Axles:
12.01 Rear axle must be of the same manufacturer as the car and originally available with the transmission and engine combo. Note, no gun drilled light weight axles, no lightened ring gears, no spools, no aluminum driveshafts.
12.02 Any gear ratio is allowed.
12.03 Driveshaft safety loops are mandatory on all cars 13.99 and faster.
