Those box Novas have crappy suspension geometry. I wonder what the factory planned for road racing. Obviously, not the straight axles that ended up under them. :gears

Nope, those particular Novas were fitted with Corvette independent rears.

Chevy started with a convertible body and added the fastback cladding rather than try to modify a sedan. As you can see here, they ended up being used for the dragstrip.
