I am sure most of you spent sometime last week watching the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale Auction. What did you guys think? Cars, Prices, and overall.

One thing that stuck in my mind was a comment Craig Jackson made on Sunday during the last hour. He said 57% of the cars went to new owners. That was one expensive week if you were one of the 43% that had to buy there car back :bang

I spent TOO much time watching it... but came away thinking the market overall has clearly softened, not surprisingly. My overall impression were:

Mopars appeared to be soft. low mileage 69 Hemi RR went for $63k, 71 Hemi cuda barely hit $159K, though a six pack version did well,,,can't recall exact price.

Buick GNX w/ 682 miles on it went for $92,000...Interesting,

Chevy Muscle seemed to do well. Oodles of vettes and Z-28's pulling decent numbers and COPOs bringing roughly $300k

Charity cars...who knows....

50's classics (T-Birds, Chrysler "Cruisers" etc.) did well, for another year, that and well done customs are a trend in my humble opinion.

:shrug

Best Buy: 1968 post Biscayne 427, 4spd, 4:11's real car for $30K!!!

How do I get adopted by Ron Pratt??

I thought that Biscayne was a good deal as well. Even had the body colored painted steelies. Definitely as buyers' market, I thought.

And you are right about that Ron Pratt. I pity the fool that gets in a bidding war with that guy.

Mike
