What a fantastic way to end the 2009 racing season!

We had unbelievable weather for the middle of November, a great turnout of racers, new records were set, new personal bests were achieved, great commeraderie, and great memories to get us thru the upcoming winter months.

When Ralph founded the SuperCar ShootOut, he not only wanted to create a great venue for racing, but also wanted to be able to use the Series to be able to bring attention to, and help support, a worthwhile cause. After much investigation, he decided that the Make-A-Wish Foundation was that organization. Since September of 2008, Ralph has donated $1.00 of every T-Shirt sold to Make-A-Wish of Connecticut. At his weekly cruise night on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, CT, he's designated the last Cruise night of each month as Make-A-Wish Night, collecting $1.00 from each car attending the cruise. We also turned our annual Fall Foliage Car Cruise into a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. He organized the SuperCar ShootOut GearHeads at the Valley in Oct. 2009 as a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. Since Sept. 2008, with your help, we've raised over $2,500 for Make-A-Wish.

Make-A-Wish helps to realize and grant the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses. Joy eclipses illness, and the memories of the granted wish can help get the child thru future rough patches. The donations are used to fulfill the childs wish and send these children and their families to where ever their wish takes them. The organization does great work and brings alot of joy to not only the child, but also to the child's family (the child is not the only one dealing with the illness).

During the running of the Fall Finale at Atco Raceway Atco, NJ on Nov. 15, you met Eric and his family. Eric is a big car and drag racing enthusiast, and he is a great photographer and loves taking pictures, of cars, of course. He and his dad come out to Ralph's cruise nights on a regular basis. It was there that we found out that Eric was a recipient of the Make-A-Wish Foundation (they sent him and his family to Disney). Ralph invited Eric and his parents to come spend the day at the race, since Eric loves cars. I'm so glad that Eric and his family were able to come to the race at Atco and spend the day with all the racers. He took lots of pictures, met the racers, checked out the cars, got to see the racing action from the tower, and got a fantastic trophy that all the racers signed.

The money that we were able to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation over this past year will help other children have their wish granted, kids just like Eric.

Congrats John for finally joining the 12 second club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss all of you guys. Looking foreward to next year. Ralph, and everyone I forgot to mention keep up with the outstanding work and publicity to keep the Supercar camp well on the map!!! Hopefully Scott and I will be back next year with an Olds small block 4-speed car.
