Thanks Hal, just skimming through and saw i never replied!

I think a nova w/ that motor would be killer, but i need the dough to do it, and well, thats another day!

what would be real cool is a max effort impala! :aok Get em scratching their heads :rock

ya know something ya could just drop a monster motor in, that would be fun!

gotta love the unsuspecting cars that kick a$$$!

what would be the best contender, any impalas have aluminum intakes?

Hi Ted: From 1965 thru 1969 all full size Chevys with rectangular port Big Blocks came with some form of high rise aluminum intake. 396 in 65, 427 in 66 thru 69. I have never seen an aluminum head big block in one of these cars but I suppose it was possible maybe in 69 with all the COPO stuff.

The full size B body has a lot to offer in terms of rear suspension, (it's a four link) big rear overhang, and fairly light weight for it's size my 67 small block weighs 3670 with 1/2 a tank of gas. So I figure it would weigh about 3770 with an aluminum manifold big block without doing any tricky weight removal.

As you said, it's all about the money right now and these are not the times for most people to be dropping big bucks into these projects. But clearly a good 500 cu in motor could equal low 11's in one of these cars.

I am looking to buy an enclosed trailer this winter and have already sold my open trailer so I most likely am done for this season. Wish you a 10 second time slip before winter.

Hal
