The 4th Annual SuperCar Awards Banquet Party January 11, 2009
Our 4th Annual SuperCar Awards Banquet Party was a great success. With a crowd of over 40 Racers, Fans and Family, Del' Artes Restaurant was the place to be in January if you were into Factory Appearing Racing.
Attendees had the first look at the new exciting SuperCar Schedule planned for 2009 and NEW! SuperCar Certified Participant Program, a first in factory Appearing Drag Racing. Part of the evenings festivities included a recap of the 2008 season shown on the big screen. This proved to be one of the main attractions of the evening.
Our very popular Show and Tell was, as usual, a big success, with many of the racers and fans bringing items out of their personal collections to share with the group. Jim McDonough brought an NHRA banner signed by many of the great racers he idolized throughout the years. Scott McKenzie brought his customized lunch box that he made back in sixth grade. John Suess brought memorabilia from back in the day, including a model he built when he was a child. Hal Oaks had the rooms attention when he took the time to explain how back in 1965 he sent away for the GeeTO Tiger record. Hal also brought along a record player so we could all hear the Vinyl play it's tunes. If that wasn't enough, Hal also treated us to a model car that started life as four rubber tires! Hal constructed every aspect of this model. From forming the polycarbonate windshield to sand casting the chrome wheels and even sculpting the body out of a piece of wood. Hal's work back in the day heralded him a spot at the 1964 Worlds Fair. His Fisher Body Craftmans Guild Car was displayed for the entire running of the 1964 Worlds Fair in New York. SuperCars Promised a Super Spectacular prize to raffle among the entries of the Show and Tell. Winner of the Budweiser lounge set was Ted Daros. Ted stumped the group with his Model T brake pedal pressure tester and his equally impressive Model T windshield wiper pressure tester
Awards were presented to ALL the clubs SuperCar showcases at every event.

Our Raffle & 50/50 was a big success. With EVERYONE that attended the awards party receiving a special prize tailored for just the women and a raffle for every child that attended, as well as EVERY Racer!
Del 'Arte has hosted the SuperCars Awards Party for the past three years. The food, location and decor has proven to be a perfect match for SuperCar Racers and Fans.
