2022 was our first full season of welcoming All Year MuscleCars to the SuperCar Series. In the past, we've allowed new MuscleCars for a race here and there, but not to compete in the complete season, with a set of rules specific to the newer Musclecar. That all changed in 2021. We knew this would bring more competition to the series, what we didn't know is how tight the ladder would become with the addition of the new Muscle. This was evident in our first race of the season. The 13th Annual Ice Breaker April 9, 2023 at Atco Dragway, NJ.

With 13 SuperCars entered to compete, the Quick 8 was set. With Ralph Barbagallo and his 1966 Plymouth HP2 at the top of the ladder and Dominick D'Alonzo in the 8th spot, we were ready to get the season started. After round one, both the quick 8 and consolation were set. Round two saw Ralph and his Belvedere against Anthony Mauro in his 1968 Firebird 400. At the tree only Ralph was able to make the call, Anthony broke and Ralph went to the Final. The second set saw Ken Turchetti and his Challenger against Peter Craig and his Mustang. With both staged, the lights flashed, and just like that, Peter fouled out and Ken went to the round WIN and the Finals. The Final was set, Ralph vs Ken, New vs Old. Burn outs completed as they rolled to the line. Pre Stage, stage and they were off. Ralph .254 light to Ken's .589 Light. At the 8th mile it was all over, with a lead that Ken couldn't catch, Ralph got the win light.

In the Consolation ladder, we found Maria Gogan and her Camaro up against Tim Patterson and his Mustang. Maria cut a .215 light to Tim's .401 light. That is what it took for Maria to pilot her Camaro to a hole shot WIN! Maria's 12.99 took out Tim's 12.83.

Our next stop in the Season brought us to Lebanon Valley Dragway for the SuperCar Spring Nationals. With two great days of clear skies and racing scheduled, we had a full field and then some. 16 SuperCars attended the 2 day event.

Day one at the top of the qualifying ladder set Anthony Mauro and his Firebird 400 with an ET of 11.73, to number 2 qualifier Ralph Barbagallo and his HP2 in at 11.83. The next two qualifiers were Frankie Ford and his Torino at 12.01, along with Peter Craig and his Mustang at 12.14. The Ladder was set and to the lanes we went.

Round two, Anthony and his Firebird are battling Frankie and his Ford Torino. This was going to be a good race, we all thought. The two were staged and torqued. Frankie, knowing he needs the whole shot to even have a chance, leaves 1st with a .246 reaction time to Anthony's .336. We have a race, Frankie leaves with a car length and more on the Firebird. They shift into 2nd and here comes the Firebird. At the stripe is a .010 victory for the Firebird over the Torino.

The 2nd matchup in the semifinals is Ralph's HP2 vs Peter's Mustang. Peter is on his game and cuts a .205 light to Ralph's .246. That wouldn't be enough for Peter, as he breaks traction and Ralph drives out of Peter's life to the win light.

The Final is set, number one and two qualifiers battled thru the field to match up in an all out, winner take all, Final. The two SuperCars staged. Anthony's. 249 light gives the lead to Ralph and his .208 light. Both clicking the shifts off at just the right RPM's, and thru the lights they both go. With a come from behind Win, Anthony powers past the Hemi of Ralph, with a .008 Win.

In the Consolation Race, Ken Turchetti powered past Tim Patterson's Mustang for the Consolation Win.

Day two of the Spring Nationals saw better conditions. The air was crisp and cool. Like the lower temps, we saw lower ET's. We also saw a change to the number one and two qualifying spots. Ralph took his Hemi Belvedere to the top of the ladder with an 11.52 ET, over Anthony's powerful Firebird's 11.57 ET. Also improving on ET was Peter Craig, piloting his Mustang to an 11.98 ET, right behind Frankie Ford's 11.95 ET. The field was set and the racing was going to be very close on this second day.

After a round one win for the top four competitors, we found Ralph and Frankie in a battle to see who would be in the Finals. The two midsize SuperCars pre-staged and then staged. The light went green and Frankie pulled out in front with a .075 better reaction time. Could Frankie hold off the Hemi? At the lights it just wasn't enough to put the Hemi on the trailer, as Ralphs wins and is off to the Finals.

On the other side of the Ladder, we find Peter vs Anthony. Anthony has lane choice and gives the left lane to Peter. They both do their burnouts and stage their Pony Cars. The two leave with similar reaction times. As they make their way thru the gears and to the end of the quarter mile, the WIN light shines bright on the left! Peter wins and takes out the Firebird.

The Final is set. Hemi vs Coyote. Ford vs Mopar. They both make their way back to the line. They Stage and wait for the lights to flash. They are off, Peter cuts a .174 Light to Ralph's .157 Light, they are door to door thru the beams. Peter Craig 11.905 Ralph Barbagallo 11.951. PETER WINS!!!! Margin of victory .004

In the Consolation Final, we again find Ken Turchetti working the field. This day he finds himself against another 392 Powered Mopar of Joe Holmes. Both make their way to the line. They stage and they are off, both reaction times are within .007 of each other. At the beam, Joe finds himself ahead by .037. Joe Wins the consolation race.

After 3 races, the Points Standings are:

Our next event is one of our favorites, Night of Fire Atco Dragway, NJ. 14 of the quickest SuperCars showed up for this one day event. With grand stands full with spectators, the SuperCar crew didn't disappoint. After 2 rounds of qualifying we found a new SuperCar at the top of the ladder. Frankie Ford put his Torino 429 CJ on the pole with an untouchable 11.398 E/T. Next quickest was the Hemi Powered Plymouth of Ralph Barbagallo. Rounding out the quick eight was Tim Patterson and his Mustang. The ladder was set and off to the lanes we went. On the top half of the ladder in round two, you found Frankie Ford vs Peter Craig. This was going to be a good race. They both staged the Black Beasts. The lights came down, and at the same instant, both Fords leave with almost exact reaction times. At the stripe, Peter Craig out-performed the Torino .041, Peter is off to the Finals. In the bottom half of the Quick 8, Ralph Barbagallo faced off with Ken Turchetti. They both staged and the lights came down. The Plymouth jumped to an early lead and never saw the 392 of Ken.

The Finals were set, Peter vs Ralph. The call came over the loud speaker, "SuperCar ShootOut to the Lanes". Peter chooses the left, Ralph is in the right. Both heat the hides and stage their SuperCars for battle. The lights come down and Ralph leaves first by .055 over Peter. Ralph is out a car at the line, By the 1/8 mile, Peter is over taking the Plymouth and motors by as he shifts his Mustang into high gear. Peter Wins!

In the consolation Race, we have yet again Maria Gogan and her beautiful Camaro up against Albert Galdi and his 1969 Hemi GTX. Both are excited to show what they have in front of the packed grandstands. They both Staged and were ready to go. The starter sent them off. Albert knew he had to leave Maria at the light if he had any chance of a victory, with almost a .300 second lead, he does all he can to try to pull out the win. Maria is late but off she goes, Shifting the Camaro with vengeance she makes all she left at the line and comes home with the WIN!

Our next stop in the 2022 SuperCar Season is Lebanon Valley Dragway, NY. The 1st day was our annual New vs Old, 2 out of 3 Match Race event. With 18 SuperCars ready to do battle, qualifying started early in the morning. After two rounds of qualifying, we paired everyone by closest E/T and the fun began. At the end of the day the Old took out the New.

The 2nd day was more traditional with two Quick 8 ladders. When qualifying was completed, at the top was Ted Daros and his 1969 Nova SS396, in 2nd position was Anthony Palazzolla and his Hellcat Charger, followed by Frankie Ford and Peter Craig. With the ladders set, off to the lanes the SuperCars went. After round one, we found Ted, Frankie and Tony advance. The upset was in the lower ladder, Anthony Scioscia vs Peter Craig. In the Final round of the quick 8 we find SuperCar Champion Ted Daros vs Tony Palazzolla. With ease, Ted disposes of the Hellcat Charger. To the Winners Circle Goes Ted.

In the Consolation ladder, we find Ralph Barbagallo vs Peter Craig. These two have met in final rounds twice this year, with Peter taking both Wins in previous Final Rounds. They both stage and leave the line with similar reaction times. They both work thru the gears, and at the end Ralph Runs thru at 11.840 to Peters 12.012, off to the Winners Circle goes Ralph.

Race 9 & 10. SuperCar Races Muscle Mania, LVD Dragway, NY. Perfect weather forecasted for the entire weekend brought out 22 SuperCars for day one. With more seat time in the New Hellcat Charger, Tony Palazzolla put his Charger on the Pole Position. In P2, we found Frankie Ford and his Super quick Torino. In P6, we find our points leader Peter Craig. With Peter in P6, his 1st round competitor was Frankie Ford. The match up was epic. Peter brought his Mustang to line right, behind Franky's Torino. Both roasted the hides and staged their SuperCars. Light went green and they were off, both reaction times are similar. Thru the gears they go, turning on the Win light is Frankie Ford! Off to the consolation race goes Peter.

Round two was filled with upsets. First set of SuperCars to the line are Father and Son. Tony vs Sam Palazzolla. 392ci vs 376ci Young vs Old. They both boil the hides and stage their Mopars. Tony gets talked into giving Sam the jump. Sam leaves with a .028 reaction time. Tony leaves, late! And with that being said, he couldn't make up the difference. Sam is off to the Finals vs Ralph. With the Final round set, the class is called to the staging lanes. Sam was looking for the jump against the Belvedere. Ralph gives him the jump and is now chasing down the ultra quick 392 Hemi Charger. At the stripe it's Ralph for the WIN!

In the Consolation Race, we find our two heavy hitters in the Final round looking for every possible point, Peter vs Anthony, Ford vs Pontiac, New vs Old. They are ready to do Battle. Both are pre-staged and then staged. Anthony leaves 1st by .103, out in front he looks for the Black Mustang. Peter, focused on his shifts, makes up a car length and pulls out in front of Anthony by .004 for the Consolation WIN and the extra point that goes with the Trophy.

Race 10 LVD Presents Muscle Mania! Sunday Funday, a huge Car Show and crowd are on hand for some great side by side drag racing. Another great turn out for the SuperCar Series with 20 SuperCars in attendance.

Once again, Qualifying saw the Hellcat of Tony Palazzolla in P1, with Anthony Mauro in P2, followed by Peter Craig in P3. In round one, Ralph took out Tony with a hole shot, Peter took out Ralph with raw Horsepower, and Anthony just took control of the 2nd half of the Ladder. The Final is Set, Peter vs Tony. With the Winners circle brawl from the previous day, all had their eyes on these two, as they exchanged words before they buckled into their SuperCars. Both to the starting line they went. With thoughts of the previous days battle, Anthony did what no SuperCar racer ever wants to do. Anthony Pre-stages then stages. Like clock work, Peter moves his Mustang into the beams. Before the starter flips the switch, Before Anna can start to film, Before Ralph can take the picture. Anthony trips the lights and goes RED! Peter Wins!!!!

In our Consolation ladder, Ken Turchetti puts his Challenger in the Winner circle and collects the needed points.

Race 11 Fall SuperCar Nationals New England Dragway Epping, NH.

SuperCars is back at its favorite track in New Hampshire. SuperCars is the exclusive Factory Appearing Stock Tire series of NED. With that said, the red carpet is rolled out for our SuperCar Racers. 9 SuperCars made the trip north. In P1, we find Peter Craig, and in P2 Ken Turchetti. Both looking to maximize points, they work their way thru the field and find themselves in the Finals. Ken was doing all he could do to edge out the Super Quick Mustang, just can't get it done. Peter to the WIN with Max Points awarded for his efforts.

In the consolation race, we find Luke Lucasse in his Nova 396 vs Ralph Barbagallo in his 2008 Challenger SRT8. Luke steers his Super Clean and Quick Nova to the WIN!

Race 12 SuperCars @ the Valley.

All the heavy hitters showed up for this great day of racing. With 24 SuperCars in the pits, the day was filled with great close side by side racing. After Q2, in P1 is Frankie Ford and his Torino @ 11.43. In P2 is Peter Craig in his Mustang. This is all you need to know about the field as Ford Muscle took control of Mopar Day. Congrats to the Ford camp and Peter Craig for his quick 8 WIN!

In the Consolation race, the Final round was between Anthony Mauro and long time Racer Kevin Davey. When the smoke cleared Anthony pulled his Pontiac ahead for the WIN!

Road to the 2022 SuperCar Championship Race 13 & 14 Super Car Show & Go

This is our last race of the season at Lebanon Valley, our home track. SuperCars was ready to complete our season at LVD with a two days of Drag Racing and a Car Show on Sunday. Attendance once again was HUGE! 36 SuperCars came out for the 2 day event. On Day One, once the dust settled, by only .08, Tony Palazzolla found himself in P1 over Peter Craig. P3 Frankie Ford, and rounding out the top four was Anthony Mauro. The top four were separated by only .029 seconds. The field was set and to the lanes the SuperCars went. Round one upsets, Tony vs Ken, Ken with the Win! The final was two Black Fords, One new and One Old. The ShowDown was set, once again, these two Muscle Boys battle it out. Frankie in the Right lane, Peter in the Left, The lights go down, and they are off, with similar reaction times. At the Lights, it's Frankie Ford with the Win! 11.65 to Peter's 11.76.

In the Consolation race, it is the Battle of the Chargers. Anthony Scioscia and his 392 Hemi vs Tony Palazzolla and his SuperCharged 376 Hemi. Anthony cuts a quicker light than Tony, but not enough to take the victory. Tony for the Win!

Day 2 of the SuperCar Show & Go was a day for the record books. A beautiful weather day was forecasted, and it didn't disappoint. The SuperCar crew was back to enjoy a great day of Racing and Show Cars.

At the end of Q2, we found Frankie Ford at the top of the Ladder with his Torino. In P2, Anthony Mauro, follow by Peter Craig and Tony Palazzolla, rounds out the Top 4 in the Quick 8.

The ladder is set, and the top 4 make their way into round two. After the dust settled, Frankie Ford found himself in the Final round against Tony Palazzolla, for yet another battle of New vs Old.

The lights came down and the two were off on the famed LVD 1320. Traction was excellent, as usual, at the end, it was Tony and his SuperCharged Hellcat for the WIN! 11.30 to Frankie's 11.57. Another close race in the SuperCar Series.

In the Consolation Final was Ralph and his AAR vs Sam Palazzolla and his 392 Hemi Charger. Sam with a slightly better reaction time takes the WIN. Sam runs 12.170 to Ralph's Quicker but losing 12.164. Yup, another close race in the SuperCar Series.
