Sundays Breakdown written by Bill Dicicco

In the first round of Sunday eliminations Gary driving Tom’s Hemi 500 put my 383 bird into the consolation race.
Number 2 qualifier Bill Atwood hooked and reeled in the Barracuda of Rhett Moody to move on to round two.
Bryan Doyle moved on after shifting his 6 pack past the 400 of Anthony F. Mauro.
In the last of the quick 8 matchups Ralph Barbagallo rowed the AAR by the GTX of Ray Garrison.
In the first round of the best of threes Andy Colling broke into the 13’s on his way to victory over the hard shifting 2+2 of Jack Anderson.
In the battle of Musclecar royalty Thomas Rightler lined up his LS6 4 speed against the Hemi 4 speed of Robert Lapointe with the Dodge getting the round one win.
Jacob Martinez driving his Stage 1 colonnade Buick got the holeshot and hung on as Dave Marquis developed a fuel issue in his 67 Pontiac.
The voice you hear over the PA is honorary SuperCar announcer Andrew Hinckley the best at what he does.

Round 2 starts with Bryan Doyle trying to get a jump on Tom Tarzwell’s Hemi Charger but popping the clutch just a bit too soon and gifting the win to the B body.
Bill Atwood will join the aero Didge in the finals by driving his 6 Bbl GTX past the tire frying AAR driven by Ralph Barbagallo.
In the consolation race Anthony F. Mauro does 113 mph run in his Firebird just trailing the 383 of Bill Dicicco.
For the second race in a row there will be a DiCicco, Moody final as Rhett’s A body outran the big bad GTX of Ray Garrison.
In the second round of LS6 vs Hemi Robert Lapointe took his second consecutive win over the quickly improving Thomas Rightler.
Dave Marquis-came to the second round down one race to none to Jacob Martinez. The Buick of Jacob looked to end the matchup right here and put a bus length on the Pontiac. But Dave fought back and just got a nose ahead to force a third race.
Andy Colling got the jump on Jack Anderson and needed it. Jack shifting his four speed and gaining on the smaller Pontiac but just ran out of track.

In Sunday’s big final Both the 440/6 GTX of Bill Atwood and the Hemi Charger 500 of Tom Tarzwell ran 11.31’s with Atwood getting a slight holeshot and getting to the line just .01 second ahead of the charging Dodge.
The consolation final was a rematch of Saturday’s race. This time finds Rhett Moody in his Barracuda putting down a .005 reaction time and streaking down track with the DiCicco Road Runner right beside. At the line it was the B body of DiCicco ahead by .0021 of a second.
In the rubber match if best if three match race Dave Marquis out muscled the Stage 1 Buick of Jacob Martinez taking the days win.
In the final race of the weekend Andy Colling continues to improve his ET’s running deep into the 13’s while Jack Anderson shifted his tri power 2+2 to a low 14.
