The 2017 season will be looked at as the dawn of the small blocks. Small blocked nearly dominated the top of the rankings all season and next year there are more being built to come compete. However, last year's championship winning 440 6 Bbl GTX of Bill Atwood is back to defend it's spot, though with the Junior Bill taking the helm. As has been the rule for the last few seasons the racing started at new England Dragway in Epping New Hampshire for the Supercar Shootout Ice Breaker. The weather for the opening Saturday looked to be iffy, and was eventually called off do to rain leaving only the hardiest of racers to stay the night with a chance to get in the race the following day. As Sunday dawned, 6 Supercar racers were in the pits ready to start the season. Because of Supercars good relations with the track we were able to run with Saturdays and Sundays race schedu!e on Sunday. But before you can race you must qualify.

After the qualifying runs were complete the top 3 were:
Bill Atwood Jr. 11.72
Gary Constagna. 11.77
Ralph Barbagallo. 11.94

With the seatings set the Supercars headed to the starting line. First up was the junior Atwood in his father's 1970 440 6Bbl GTX do do battle with Hal Oaks in his 327 1967 Chevy II. Though Hal took his small block on it's first 11 second run (11.97) it wasn't enough to get by the Plymouth and it's 11.49. Next up was number two qualifier Gary Constagna driving former champ's Tom TNT Tarzwell's 1973 340 Duster. His 11.82 was enough to put Rhett (Mooly) Moody into the consultation round with his 1968 Barracuda Formula S when he could only muster a 12.12. In the last of the first round runs Ralph Barbagallo used his 1972 340 Demon to take out the 1968 383 Road Runner of Bill DiCicco, 12.10 to 13.47.

Round 2 gets started by Bill Jr getting a bye to the finals due to his top qualifying possition. In the race to see who would meet him Gary brought the black 73 A body to do battle with the equally black A body of Ralph's. As the two 340s reach the finish line it was Gary's 11.84 just getting by the 11.97 that Ralph put up.

In the main final Gary was on his game and took full advantage of a first time racer by making his 11.90 hold up for the win over the GTX'S 11.66.

In the first of the consolation round Hal Oaks takes a bye run down the track into the finals. Meeting the stout 327 in the finals will be Rhett and his 340 as he sent Bill DiCicco packing running a 12.22 to bills 13.40.

In the consolation final Hal got by the quick fastback by running another 11 second E.T., 11.99 to Rhett's 12.22.

So after race one of 2017 the top 5 points look like this:

Gary Constagna. 1973 340 auto Duster. 30
Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX 27
Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 27
Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 27
Rhett Moody. 1968 340 Barracuda S. 26

The ice breaker part two started as soon as the first one ended. Qualifying times were taken from the eliminations just finished and placed the top three as;
1. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 GTX 440/6 auto. 11.49@121.44
2. Gary Constagna. 1973 Duster 340 auto. 11.82@114.81
3. Hal Oaks. 1967 Chevy II 327 auto. 11.93@111.05

Qualifying being sorted it's time for the racers to go win points. Up the small hill to the starting line Ralph Barbagallo and his Demon 340 have the inenveable task of taking on the number one qualifying Bill Atwood Jr and it's 6 barrel GTX. Though Bill ran 121 mph, traction issues slowed his et to 12.25 leaving the door open for Ralph to grab the win with a 12.07 @ 115.
Next up is Gary Constagna driving Tom Tarzwell s 73 340 duster to take on the similarly powered Formula S of Rhett Moody. Gary took no prisoners and went 11.83 to Moody's 12.27.
Last up in the first round is number 3 qualifier Hal Oaks who easily out distanced Bill DiCicco's 383 Road Runner to advance to the second round.
Ralph Barbagallo took the second round bye into the final where he will meet Gary Constagna after he finished Hal Oaks day beating the little II 11.84 to 12.57.
In the all 340 final it was Gary getting the win over Ralph just hanging on over a closing Demon 11.88 @ 113 to Ralph's 11.93 @ 116.

In the first race of the consultation rounds Bill Atwood took his GTX on a bye. Next up Rhett Moody put a 12.22 on the board to trailer Bill DiCicco as he could only muster a 13.44.
Moody' s identical 12.22 would not be enough the beat Bill Atwood in the final where Bill ran a 11.49.

As the racers packed up for the opening weekend of the season the top 5 look like this;

1. Gary Constagna. 1973 Duster 340.auto. 60
2. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 Demon 340auto. 55
3. Hal Oaks. 1967 Chevy II 327 auto. 54
4. Rhett Moody. 1968 Barracuda S 340 auto. 52
4. Bill DiCicco. 1968 Road Runner 383 auto. 52

The first weekend in May find the Supercar Shootout in the rural hills of eastern New York at Lebanon Valley Dragway for the Battle of the Brands. After the sweep of the two races at the ice breaker the field had their eyes on the black 73 Duster of Tom Tarzwell and devised their strategy to take it down. When the racers finished their third qualifying run Bill Atwood Jr took the top spot besting the Gary Constagna driven 340 of Tarzwell's by .3. Another tenth and a half back was Ralph Barbagallo and his 340 Demon.

1. Bill Atwood Jr. 11.62 @ 121
2. Gary Constagna. 11.95 @ 114
3. Ralph Barbagallo. 12.11 @ 116

Bill Atwood with his stop qualifying spot matched him up with the 340 68 Barracuda of Rhett Moody. The fish slowed to a 12.90, not nearly enough for the big 6 Bbl GTX of Atwood who put a 11.70 on the scoreboard.
The second pair to go down the track is number two qualifier Gary Constagna in Tom Tarzwell s Duster and Dominick D'Alonzo in his 327 4 speed Impala. Though Dominick ran well with a 13.12 @ 106 it couldn't keep up with the Mopar. Tom's Duster posted a 11.99 to punch his card to the semi finals.
Next up is Ralph Barbagallo s Demon to do battle with the 1972 Buick GS 455 of Scott Batcheler. The big block Buick ran the track in 13.38 seconds with a trap speed of 101.81 finishing several lengths behind the small block Demon that did it in 12.19.
The final matchup of the first round pits Bill DiCicco and his 1968 383 Road Runner against the brutal 1969 455 Hurst Olds of "The Doctor" John Suess. The white and gold Oldmobiles motored down the track with a 12.14 out running the 383 that put up a 13.38.

The first semifinal matchup brings Bill Atwood Jr to the line to match his father's 1970 GTX against Ralph's small block Demon. Ralph made a close race of it but sometimes there is no replacement for displacement as the X runs a 11.69 to chase down the Dodge's 12.20.
Next up is Gary Constagna piloting the Duster against the Hurst Olds of John Suess. John gave everything the 455 had but it just wasn't enough to get by the Plymouth.

For the second time in three races the finals find the current champion GTX against the 340 of Tom Tarzwell, and for the second time Gary showed why he's in the driver's seat by beating the 6Bbl and getting the win. That's three wins in three races for the little Duster.

Down in the consolation races the first round pits Rhett Moody and his 340 against Scott Batcheler and his GS. The Buick put up a good struggle but couldn't match the pace of the Barracuda giving Moody a pass to the finals.

Facing the Formula S of Moody in the finals will be Dom D'Alonzo who dispatched the Road Runner of Bill DiCicco.

In the consolation final Moody crosses the line a second ahead of the hard shifting Impala to win the round and the points it comes with.

As the racers pack up for the day, here is how the top 5 stack up;

1. Gary Constagna. 1973 340 Duster. 90
2. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 Demon. 82
3. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 Barracuda. . 79
4. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 GTX. 78
4. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 Road Runner 78

Battle of the Brands day two brought back all of Saturday's racers plus the Chevy II of Hal Oaks and the recently revamped 1970 Vanishing Point 6 Pack 4 speed Challenger of Kevin Davey. But the racing never got started as a persistent drizzle would damped the track and the spirits of the attendees. As per the rules points are awarded for bringing your car to an event even if your unable to race. So the updated top 5 are;

1. Gary Constagna. 1973 340 Duster. 102
2. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 Demon. 94
3. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 Barracuda. 91
4. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 GTX. 90
4. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 Road Runner 90

After the summer break the Supercar guys come to Englishtown New Jersey for the Super Bowl of their season, The Mopar Atlantic Nationals at Raceway Park. While this race takes place at a Mopar event it is not a Mopar only race. If fact six of the Generals best heavy hitters came to spoil the fun for the Mopar faithful in the stands. One of those six was Greg Witney in his oval port 396 66 Chevelle SS. One of the most beautiful cars in the class And today the number one qualifier. The top of the qualifying look as such;

1. Greg Witney. 1966 396 auto Chevelle SS. 11.04 @ 127.96
2. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 11.46 @ 122.27
3. Ralph Barbagallo. 1966 HEMI auto Belvedere. 11.56 @ 123.66
4. Tom TNT Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 11.90 @ 114.25
5. Kevin Davey. 1970 440/6 4 sp Challenger R/T. 12.02 @ 122.13
6. Tom Cannon. 1971 HEMI 4 sp Super Bee. 12.20 @ 116.85
7. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 12.20 @ 111.28
8. Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4 sp AAR Cuda 12.36 @ 117.36

With the cars and driver's all qualified we had two complete quick eights, and four more cars competing in best of three match races. But we'll start with the quickest of the quick.

Up first is number one qualifier Greg Witney and his bright blue machine, facing the Chevy is Kevin Vanishing Point Davey in his newly reengined 6 pack Challenger. Though Kevin was able to keep it interesting Greg powered to the win 11.29 to 12.08.

Next to hit the Christmas tree was Ralph and his 66 HEMI to face the super light weight Chevy II of Hal Oaks. After a close battle the Mopar people in the stands were cheering ast the Belvedere got there first posting an 11.61 to the Chevy's 12.20.

In a battle of 340's Tom Tarzwell in his so far undefeated Duster takes on the gorgeous B5 blue AAR of Steve Tate. Steve banged through the 4 speed to a 12.59 but it wasn't enough to get by the Duster as it went 11.91 and into the next round.

The last pairing in the first round bought together two of the muscle car era superstars. Tom Cannon and his HEMI 4 speed against the 440 6 Barrel GTX of team Atwood. In the closest race of the round, The Super Bee was able to get the hole shot win using a 12.52 to hold off the X's 12.34.

In the semi finals it was Ralph's HEMI that was given the responsibility to take out the top qualifying Chevy of Greg Witney. The Belvedere streaked down the track to the tune of an 11.56 as Greg had issues. Ralph is in the finals and waiting for his competition to be determined.

Tom Tarzwell pulled his 340 Duster to the line against the Super Bee of Tom Cannon and launched hard and into the finals to meet the Hemi Belvedere.

In the finals number two qualifying Ralph Barbagallo placed his HEMI next the the unbeaten number three qualifying 340 of Tom Tarzwell. The two Mopars launched together and stayed as though locked that way down track. As the Raceway Park lights turned on it was the HEMI that would wear the crown. Tom kept Ralph honest though running an 11.87 to Ralph's 11.79.

Next on to the track is the quickest eight consolation races where the lone Chevrolet of Hal Oaks takes on the three Mopars of Bill Atwood Jr, Kevin Davey and Steve Tate. Turning on the staging lights first is the Chevy II of Hal Oaks out to face the white 70 Dodge of Kevin Davey. The the 327 hangs on to get the win running an 12.17 @ 111.9 to Kevin's closing 12.49 @ 114.1.

The Mopar crowd next sees Bill Atwood Jr pull his big bad GTX up next to the 6 Bbl Cuda of Steve Tate. Steve towed through the gears with gusto but just couldn't hang with last year's championship losing with a 12.87,116.6 to the B bodies twelve flat at 120.

In the consolation final the Bill Jr takes on the Chevy II of Hal Oaks. When the lights go green the X goes up in smoke handing the win to the Chevy.

While people think that 11 second cars are what Supercars are all about there is serious battles going on in the 12 and 13 second area code too. Just looking at the qualifying times will give you a good idea as the the close racing that these cars bring.

9. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 12.44 @ 111.28 broke transmission in qualifying
10. Philip Roitman. 1973 455 Stage 1 auto GS. 12.70 @ 108.01
11. John Slavin. 1969 396 auto Camaro SS. 13.12 @ 107.72
12. Buck Wing. 1965 426 auto Coronet. 13.22 @ 102.80
13. Steve Casolia. 1968 440 4 sp GTX. 13.23 @ 108.56
14. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.29 @ 103.52
15. Mike Derasmo. 1972 454 4 sp Chevelle SS. 13.30 @ 107.88
16. Jack Anderson. 1965 421 tri power 4 sp 2+2. 13.96 @ 102.13
17. Bill Corcoran. 1968 440 auto Spoty Fury. 14.18 @ 97.91

Top qualifier Rhett Moody broke a transmission during qualifying and was unable to make round one moving everyone up and bringing Bill Corcoran and his big bad Sport Fury into the quick eight. On paper the quick eight looked to be a barn burner and in this case the paper was right. Coming out of the Englishtown tunnel first was Phil Roitman and his 1973 stage 1 Buick to face the 383 Plymouth of Bill DiCicco. The torquey Buick passed the Road Runner just past half track to put Phil into round two and the Road Runner into the consultation rounds 13.08 to 13.30.

Second pairing to the stripe is John Slavin driving his silver SS 396 Camaro to do battle with the 454 4 Speed Chevelle SS of Mike Derasmo. Turning on the win bulb was the Camaro just edging out his Chevy stablemate 13.17 to the Chevelle's 13.35.
Buck Wing pulled his 426 Street wedge into the beams next to take on Jack Anderson and his Tripower 4 speed Pontiac. Making it into round two was the Coronet of Wing beating the Pontiac 13.26 to the 2+2's 14.13.
To fill out the second round matchups Steve Casolia Shifed his 68 GTX past the Sport Fury of Corcoran lighting the scoreboard to the tune if a 13.45 to the slowing C body's 14.24

Round two of the quick eight Pit's the Buick of Phil Roitman against the Dodge of Buck Wing. The Coronet ran well into the 13's but the 12.70 of the stage one would put it into the finals.
John Slavin is next to try to make it to the finals running against the GTX of Steve Casola. The two cars run fender to fender for the entire 1320 with the Camaro just edging out the Plymouth 13.21 to 13.26.

In the quick eight finals the twelve second Buick of Phil Roitman was just too much for the 13.22 that the Chevy scored giving the win and the trophy to Phil Roitman

The quick eight consolation races were no less a battle with 4 very ballenced cars going for the trophy. The light green 383 Road Runner of Bill DiCicco is first to the line to face Jack Anderson and his quick shifting abilities in his Pontiac 2+2. Bill was on the tree and motored away from the bug Pontiac with a 13.28 to the Tripowers 14.01.

Following the Plymouth win was another Plymouth. That of Bill Corcoran and his 440 powered Sport Fury. Taking on the big yellow Fury is Mike Derasmo and his 4 speed 454 Chevelle. The 440 was mighty but the lighter Chevy gapped it with a coasting 14.04 to take an easy win and a pass to the finals.

The final matchup in the quick eight consolation pits the 383 Mopar of Bill DiCicco and the 454 Chevy of Mike Derasmo. The Beep Beep ran it's best time of the day with a 13.23 to take the win when Mike couldn't make a full run in the Chevelle.

In the best of three matchup Dana Lofredo drove her 1970 300 passed the 68 Super Bee of Fred Meyer winning 2 of the three to get the win

Day two at Raceway Park brought 4 new racers to the 2017 season. First is former Supercar champ Ted Daros and his vicious 396 Nova. Dan Lyons also made it on Sunday to pilot his 440 70 'Cuda down the 1320. John Sweeney, a Supercar regular makes his first appearance of the season with his full size big block Pontiac, and finally first time Supercar competitor Tom Finn with his super sanitary top of the line 1966 Chevy II. Three qualifying runs will determine where these newcomers will fit into the twelve returning racers from Saturday. As the last of the Q runs finished up the racers gathered for the driver's meeting to see where they fit in. The quickest eight are;

1. Ted Daros. 1970 396 auto Nova SS. 10.98 @ 130.42
2. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX 11.53 @ 123.59
3. Ralph Barbagallo. 1966 HEMI auto Belvedere. 11.61 @ 122.57
4. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 11.81 @ 115.25
5. Hal Oaks. 1966 327 auto Chevy II. 12.03.@ 112.59
6. Steve Tate 1970 340/6 4 sp AAR Cuda 12.12 @ 117.63
7. Kevin Davey 1970 440/6 4sp Challenger R/T 12.29 @ 121.13
8. Phil Roitman. 1973 455 Stage 1 GS 12.71 @ 109.01

With the quickest eight determined it's time to hit the track and earn some points. Leading the pack onto the track is Ted Daros and his 10 second Nova to race Hal Oaks and his ever formidable Chevy II. Hal knew he needed to push it if he were to have a chance but he pushed too hard and he slowed to a 13 second et witch only gave him a good veiw of Ted's 10.98.
The junior Atwood is next up to do battle with the 6 Bbl of Steve Tate. Steve dropped the clutch and pounded through the gears but still had to watch the big GTX finish first 11.67 to 12.89.
Ralph Barbagallo, giving his Demon a weekend off and wheeling his 426 HP2 sedan took to the starting line to meet Kevin Davey and his multi carbed Challenger. Ralph improved from his qualifying time and put up an 11.32 just a bit too much for the 12.15 of Kevin's.
The final matchup of the first round pits points leader Tom Tarzwell, doing his own driving for the weekend, against Philip Roitman and his GS. The Buick tried to keep it close but the Duster is just too much running eight tenths quicker at a 12.03.

The dark green Nova of Mr Daros leads Ralph Barbagallo and his HEMI to the starting line for the first of the round two matchups, but Ralph treed the Nova giving himself a couple car length lead. He needed every inch of it as the Chevy came storming down the track to the tune of an 11.17 to the Plymouth s 11.37 and a win.
Tom Tarzwell and Bill Atwood Jr are back at it again. The 73 Duster has been a thorn in the side of the GTX all season and will continue to be so as the bigger Plymouth spun at the hit and couldn't chase the Duster down giving Tom the pass to the finals, 12 flat to the X's 12.55.

In the quickest eight final yesterday s winner Ralph Barbagallo meets up with points leader Tom Tarzwell. Ralph looked like the favorite coming in with a seven tenths advantage, but the 73 Duster has been over coming these disadvantages all season and looked to do it again. The green flashes on and the two Plymouth shoot down the track. Tom gave it his all running an 11.93 with his 340, but Ralph and his HEMI went 11.34 for the win and a weekend sweep.

Part of the attraction of Supercars is getting your money's worth when you race. One way that is done is with the consolation races for the first round losers. Points are awarded here and the racers want them! Four heavy hitters are pulling out of the Englishtown pits to collect.

Hal Oaks and his eleven second ChevyII pulls into the stage beams next to the Challenger of Kevin Davey who is on the verge of his first 11 second time slip. Kevin tried hard, too hard and spun coming off the line and Hal and his 327 gave no quarter going 12.05 to the trailing Dodge's 13.07.

Steve Tate and his gorgeous AAR is looking to put himself into the final but Phil Roitman's gold GS may have something to say about it. Phil stepped it up to a slip reading 12.78, which was enough to stay ahead if the charging Plymouth and it's 117 mph speed combined with a 13.66 et.

In the non Mopar final taking place at the Mopar nats both racers wanted the win with the trophy saying they won at THE Mopar event. Hal Oaks looked unbeatable in the round having been nearly in the 11's all day while the Buick was in the mid twelves. But it was the Chevy that went a 12.52 leaving the door cracked for the GS. But Phil couldn't squeeze into the crack running a 12.75 making Oaks the consultation winner.

The Mopar Atlantic Nationals draw huge crowds and with that huge fields. So a second quick eight was assembled. After their three qualifying runs the cars and driver's settled out as suck;

1. John Slavin. 1969 396 auto Camaro SS. 13.03 @ 108.72
2 Buck Wing 1965 426 W auto Coronet 13.15 @ 103.80
3. Bill DiCicco 1968 383 auto Road Runner 13.31 @ 102.52
4. Jack Anderson 1965 421 Tripower 4 sp 2+2 13.89 @ 103.31
5. Dan Lyons 1971 440/6 auto 'Cuda 13.99 @ 99.56
6. John Sweeney 1967 421 auto Bonneville 14.37 @ 96.42
7. Tom Finn 1966 327 4sp Chevy II 14.67 @ 97.52
8. Fred Meyer 1968 383 auto Super Bee. 14.77 @ 91.01

Starting the racing action is Supercar regular John Slavin in his 396 Camaro and Supercar newcomer Dan Lyons driving his 71 'Cuda. John used the opportunity to welcome Dan into his first consultation race beating the Plymouth 13.07 to 14.17
Buck Wing and his slick 65 Dodge was next given the task of going against John Sweeney and his quick full sized Pontiac. Buck got to the finish line first when John's Bonneville couldn't match the 13.27 of the Mopar.
The bottom half of the ladder starts with the green 68 Road Runner of Bill DiCicco and the four speed Chevy II of Tom Finn. The Plymouth ran a 13.29 as the Chevy baled on his run.
Jack Anderson and Fred Meyer, two long time Supercar racers were matched up to finish the first round. Jack is always tough, shifting the four speed 2+2 and getting more than his fair share if wins. Fred was able to get his 383 Bee out ahead of the big Pontiac, but Jack drive by the Dodge and took the win, 14.08 to 15.16.

Starting the semifinals is John Slavin and his number one qualifying SS Camaro and Bill DiCicco and his 383 Plymouth. As green lights come on Bill got a small jump. The Road Runner raced down the track but the Camaro was closing. They cross the stripe together with the Mopar scoring the win despite running a 13.24 to the Chevy's 13.07.
Battling to face the Road Runner in the finals is Jack Anderson and his big four speed Pontiac and Buck Wing and his 65 Dodge. At the finish line it was Jack and his 14.08 that put him into the finals.

Jack knew he needed some luck to beat the quicker Plymouth and tried to make his own, but too much power too soon had his tires spinning as the Road Runner was hooking to the tune of 13.25 to Jack's smokey 17 second cruise.

The first matchup in the quick eight consolation races features two first time Supercar Shootout racers. Dam Lyon came equipped with a 71 big block 'Cuda and Tom Finn brought a high winding four speed small block. On the track it was the Plymouth earning Dan's pass to the final.
In the second semifinal is two experienced Supercar racers, John Sweeney has been getting quicker every race in his big Bonneville and Fred Meyer has been very consistent in his Super Bee. At the stripe it's the Super Bee that's going to go to the all Mopar final.

Dan slowly turns on the stage beams waits for the green and gets his first win in his first attempt. And did it with style by running his first 13 second time, 13.93 @ 98.50.

The middle of September is when the Buick faithful have their yearly event at Cecil County Dragway in Maryland, and they feel fit to have the Supercar racers come to entertain.
A couple of new faces for the 2017 showed up a Cecil County Dragway, first is Supercar regular Scott Jerdan and his 4 speed 1970 W-30, a beautiful well sorted and quick Oldsmobile. Also racing today was supercar new comer Rick Miller. Rick was at the show with his 1970 Buick GSX and decided to step out of the show field and onto the race track.

Qualifying had some cars running personal bests and others struggling with new tires. It also had two cars running right at that sub 11 second zone. Consensus was reached to let the two fastest cars, Ted Daros and Greg Witney, run a best of three match race and the rest of the racers run their normal quick eight program.

Qualifying unfolded as such;

1. Ted Daros. 1969 396 auto Nova SS. 10.93 @ 129.22
2. Greg Witney. 1966 396 auto Chevelle SS. 11.17 @ 127.71
3. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 12.01 @ 116.92
4. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 12.02 @ 114.72
5 Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4sp AAR Cuda. 12.45 @ 117.04
6. Scott Jerdan. 1970 455 4sp 442 W-30. 12.49 @ 113.75
7. Rick Miller. 1970 455 Stage1 auto. 12.77 @ 105.02
8. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.22 @104.81

First up is a very special best of three match race. This time two of the heavyweights of the Supercar Shootout will do battle for ultimate supremacy. After a trio of close races it was Ted Daros and his Nova just squeaking out the win running a best time of 10.93 to Greg's 11.01. That was like old fashion match racing must've felt like. These two will be back tomorrow to thrill the crowds doing it again.

The traditional quick eight racers filed into the lanes to do battle on the Cecil County strip bringing number one qualifier Ralph Barbagallo in his sinister black Demon to match up against the four speed AAR of number five qualifying Steve Tate. Ralph ran just a few hundreths off his qualifying time putting up a 12.07 to Steve's 12.43
Number two, today and points leader Tom Tarzwell is top seated in the next matchup against the W-30 of Scott Jerdan. Tom ran an identical 12.07 as Ralph in the last race leaving the Olds behind running a 12.66.
The first pair of cars coming to the line from the lower half of the ladder contains Rhett Moody and his 340 fastback Barracuda S and rookie Supercar Shootout racer Rick Miller and his GSX Stage 1. Rhett fired off the line and ran a stout 12.28. The Buick was no slouch posting a 12.82, but it wasn't enough to get past the quick fish.
In the final pairing of the first round Hal Oaks drove his Chevy away from the Road Runner of Bill DiCicco easily winning 12.29 to 13.33.

The second round started with a matchup of 340's. Rhett Moody brought his Barracuda to battle Ralph Barbagallo and his number one qualifying Demon. At the stripe it was the Demon going to the finals just out distancing the fastback 12.03 to Moody's 12.42.
The other semifinal matches the 340 of Tom Tarzwell and the 327 of Hal Oaks. Both cars had difficulties lighting the scoreboards with 12 .49 and 12.75 with the Mopar having the quicker time.
The finals feature the number one and two qualifiers, the 340 A bodies of Ralph Barbagallo and Tom Tarzwell. The two Mopars streak down the 1320 with the black Demon beating the Duster by .3 running a 12.17.

In the consolation semis Steve Tate shifted his AAR by the GSX of Rick winning 12.49 to 12.75 and Scott Jerdan eliminated the Road Runner of Bill DiCicco, 12.59 to 13.33.
Steve took the consolation final posting another solid mid 12 second time as Scott slowed to a 16.60.

After day one in Cecil County Maryland the points stand as;

1. Tom/Gary. 1973 340 auto Duster. 186
2. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 168
3. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 147
4. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 142
5. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 139

Day two at Cecil County Dragway and race eight of the SuperCar Shootout championship finds our racers in another hot Maryland race day. Two new racers are on sight for the days activities. Jack Anderson wheeling his 4 speed 2+2 Pontiac and Jacob Martinez in his 73 Gran Sport. The race layout will be the same as Fridays race with the top two racers opting to go head to head in a best of three shootout and the rest of the competitors battling it out in the quick eight format. Qualifying showed that for speed, Ted Daros and Greg Witney are the top dogs. Here's out qualifying played out;

1. Ted Daros. 1969 396 Auto Nova SS. 10.93 @ 129.22
2. Greg Witney. 1966 396 auto Chevelle SS. 11.17 @ 127.71
3. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 12.02 @ 114.72
4. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 12.20 @ 116.92
5. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 12.24 @ 113.25
6. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 12.31 @ 112.04
7. Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4 sp AAR Cuda. 12.45 @ 117.04
8. Jacob Martinez. 1973 455 auto GS. 13.30 @ 102.84
9. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.33 @ 104.18
10 Jack Anderson. 1965 421TriPower 4sp 2+2. 14.26 @ 101.56

With the seatings set it's time to do some racing. Tom Tarzwell has been leading the championship from the first race and he was number one out if the gate today. To face Tom will be Steve Tate and Steve was not going to be a pushover. He shifted his AAR to a quick 12.13, ready if Tom made the slightest of mistakes. Tom has been at this a long time and didn't give Steve an inch running an 11.83 to get to round two.
Ralph Barbagallo brings his original paint Demon 340 to the line to take on the 455 Buick of Jacob Martinez. Though it's Jacobs first appearance of 2017 he has plenty of experience racing SuperCar. That experience will now include being put into the consultation race as Ralph put down the big Buick 12.26 to 13.33
Third to the line are two 1968 Plymouths, the Barracuda Formula S of Rhett Moody and the Road Runner of Bill DiCicco. The well sorted Barracuda of Moody made quick work of the 383 downing it with a 12.28, more than a second clear of DiCicco.
The last of the first round matchups pits Hal Oaks' Chevy II ,the smallest car in the class vs Jack Anderson in the largest. Jacks 2+2 is powerful but Oaks' 327 is still 2 seconds quicker to the finish line.

With half the field eliminated the racing in round two will be faster and closer and seemingly to prove it Ralph Barbagallo and Hal Oaks go start to finish side by side with the Dodge just edging out the Chevy 12.05 to a close 12.18.
Up next is points leader Tom Tarzwell to do battle with fellow 340 Racer Rhett Moody. Moody moved first and got a lead but the lighter weight Duster was able to get past lighting to scoreboard with an 11.88 to the fastbacks solid 12.28.

Ralph not satisfied with one door handle to door handle race decided to try it again this time with Tom's Duster. Whereas Ralph had an ET advantage last round against the Chevy this round had Tom charging down the track in just 11.85. Ralph's Demon ran strong putting his own 11 second run on the board. With a reaction time advantage Ralph made his 11.95 a winning number. Giving the Demon the quick eight trophy.

Down in the consolation semi finals Bill DiCicco takes on the AAR of Steve Tate. Bill slowed to a 13.58 but Steve gave it all up with a red light putting the Road Runner into the finals
Facing the Plymouth in the finals will be Jack Anderson as he had an easy win over the Buick of Jacob Martinez.

In the consolation final Bill DiCicco out distanced the Pontiac of Anderson, 13.39 to 14.38.

The best if three battle of the Titans was all of that. Greg Whitney took his beautiful 1966 369 Chevelle SS and ran his very first SuperCar 10 second pass. Big congrats for that huge achievement. Mr Daros while impressed still managed to squeak it a two of three victory over the Chevelle.

Points as the series packs up and heads home from Maryland look like this;

1 Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 214
2. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 195
3. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 174
4. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 169
5. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 154
6. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 139

The first Saturday of October brings the SuperCar roadshow to the eastern border of New York, Lebanon Valley Dragway. As the season nears it's end points become more and more important. Any mistake even in qualifying could cost you points and positions. On the subject of points, SuperCar has a dropped race rule requiring every driver to drop two races. This is to allow racers to miss races without penalty and spend time with their families. From here on out I will show the points total with the dropped races included. However before you can score points you must first qualify, here's where the racers slotted;

1. Ted Daros. 1969 396 auto Nova SS. 11.18 @ 128.18
2. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 11.80 @ 120.39
3. Kevin Davey. 1970 440/6 4sp Challenger R/T. 11.86 @ 120.81
4. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 11.91 @ 113.98
5. Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4 sp AAR Cuda. 12.14 @ 115.12
6. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 12.17 @ 115.74
7. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 12.27 @ 110.87
8. John Suess 1969 455 auto H/O. 12.40 @ 113.25

9. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 12.42 @ 111.57
10 Scott Bowman 1969 396 Chevelle SS. 12.60 @ 108.21
11 Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.54 @ 100.87

Getting the racing started is Steve Tate and his AAR. Steve is really getting a handle on this high strung four speed machine having whittled his ETs down to the low 12's, however when lined up against the likes of Ted Daros and the Nova you'll have to do better than that and Steve is sent to the consultation race.
Our second match up pits Bill Atwood Jr against Ralph Barbagallo and his Demon. Jr has had his fair share of growing pains learning to race in a bias ply tired car capable of running ten second quarter mile times and going Ralph is never easy, but on this day it was Billy driving his way to round two.
Next up is out newest 11 second Supercar, Kevin Davey. And he did it the hard way, dropping the clutch and grabbing gears. Kevin is matched up with the will Hal Oaks driving his Chevy II, "The toy". With the two newest 11 second racers matching cars it was the 440 six pack just edging out the 327 of Oaks.
In the last of the first round matches, points leader Tom Tarzwell puts his Duster next to the Hurst Olds of John Suess. John hung tough but in the end it was Tom moving on and John looking at a consultation round race.

In the semis Ted put his dark green Chevy against the Vanishing Point Challenger of Kevin Davey. Kevin gave it his all but beating Ted is not in the cards for the Challenger this day.
For a chance to take the trophy from Ted, Tom Tarzwell stages his Duster next t to Bill Jr. The Duster has been a thorn in Bills side all season but finally the GTX will get a measure of revenge taking out the 340 and putting Atwood in the finals.

Bills winning ways would end in the final where the 396 of Daros does what it does best, win.

In the consolation round Hal Oaks brings his Chevrolet out to battle the AAR Cuda of Steve Tate. In a close race Hal had just enough lead to hold off the charging Cuda and get to the finals.
Vying to meet the small Chevy is Ralph Barbagallo in his Demon and John Suess in his Hurst. John get faster each appearance but will need a bit more to defeat the Dodge of Barbagallo.
In a battle of small blocks the 340 of Barbagallo was just a little too much for Hal Oaks' 327, giving Ralph the consolation win.

In the round robin of the bottom three ,Rhett dominated with three easy wins, Mark Bowman got two wins and Bill DiCicco got one.

As of that Saturday night the points stand as this;
Including dropped races*

1. Tom/Gary. 1973 340 auto Duster. 202
2. Hal Oaks. 1067 327 auto Chevy II. 188
3. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 183
4. Ralph Barbagallo 1972 340 auto Demon 181
5. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 172
6. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 GTX. 165

Mother nature caused a one week break between the Saturday and Sunday races but on the 15th the SuperCar fanatics showed up in force to run the 1320 of Lebanon Valley Dragway. A full dozen race cars were lined up for qualifying and here's were they slotted:

1. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 11.58 @ 120.93
2. Kevin Davey. 1970 440/6 4sp Challenger R/T. 11.86 @ 122.27
3. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 11.90 @ 113.21
4. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 12.16 @ 115.51
5. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 12.24 @ 115.15
6. Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4sp AAR Cuda. 12.49 @ 117.31
7. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 12.50 @ 111.47
8. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.39 @ 101.02
9. Gary Payne. 2014 392 6sp SRT Challenger. 13.40 @ 110.47
10 Josh Gaieski. 1968 440 4sp Charger R/T. 14.01 @ 99.58
11 Kevin O'Connor 1965 389 4 sp GTO. 14.28 @ 102.48
12 Jeramy Benson. 1979 400 4sp Trans Am 15.10 @ 90.58
13 Ralph Barbagallo. 1979 360 auto Magnum GT. 18.03 @ 78.54

Several racers made their 2017 debut at this race and the rule change that brings in the group of musclecars built between 1975 and 1979 is being tried by a few competitors too. Current musclecars are allowed to play on a limited basis but cannot accumulate points towards the championship. With qualifying in the books, the matchups are made and the racing begins.

The quick eight starts with the current championship winning GTX of team Atwood facing the tough little Chevy II of Hal Oaks. The Plymouth would have just too much steam for the duece and moves on to round two.
Kevin Davey is next up in his Six Pack Challenger. In the lane next to him is Steve Tate and his small block six barrel. The two four speed machines wowed the crowd with Davie getting the win.
Points leader Tom Tarzwell lead Rhett Moody to the starting line. The two 340s have been doing this all year and Rhett just can't overcome the weight advantage of the Duster and drops to the consultation race.
Ralph Barbagallo pulls to the beams in the final first round pairing against the 68 Road Runner of Bill DiCicco. At the green there's nothing DiCicco could do but watch the Demons tail light pull away.

Round two starts with another familiar matchup of Bill Atwood Jr and Tom Tarzwell, and has happened often Tom was able to overcome the slight performance advantage of the big block to sneak out a win and visit to the finals.
Number two qualifier Kevin Davey brings his bright white Challenger R/,T to the line next to meet Ralph Barbagallo. Ralph loves being the underdog and therefore should never be considered the underdog. The Little Demon pounces on the the bigger Dodge getting the win.

In a matchup of numbers 3 vs 4 qualifiers Tom Tarzwell brings his Duster to the line next to the equally quick Demon of Barbagallo. As the two A bodies streak down track it's anyone's race but the win light over Ralph's Demon is the one that came on.

In the consolation race Hal Oaks drive his shoebox Chevy to face the fastback fish of Rhett Moody. These two cars have been nose to nose all season and this round would be no different. At the stripe tho it was the Chevrolet getting the win.
The other pair to race brings the AAR Cuda of Steve Tate to do battle with the Road Runner of Bill DiCicco. Bill is a lot slower than the Cuda and would need some luck. And luck was delivered as the E body could not get off the starting line putting the Beep Beep into the finals.
There was no luck in the finals for DiCicco though as the very experienced Hal Oaks only did what he needed to to put down the Plymouth and take the win.

In the best of three match races Gary Payne shifted his 6 speed by the 68 Charger of Josh Gaieski to sweep all three rounds.
Also getting a sweep was the 65 GTO of Kevin O'CONNOR getting by the experienced Supercar racer Jeramy Benson and his new to him 1979 Trans Am.

The current standings as the racers head home from Lebanon Valley look like this;

1. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 230
2. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 215
3. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 211
4. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 209
5. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 198
6 Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 191

The SuperCar Shootout is back at LVD for race eleven of what will turn out to be a fourteen race season. Though Tom Tarzwell has remained a tough out the two big block Chevy's of Ted Daros and Greg Whitney have come in to cause havoc. And Ralph Barbagallo has gone on a serious streak of wins. But time is running out. Qualifying was a back and forth barn burner with cars changing places after each round with each racer trying to maximize their point oppritunity. No points will be earned untill qualifying is done and this is how that turned out.

1. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 44/6 auto GTX. 11.74 @ 120.57
2. Kevin Davey. 1970 440/6 4sp Challenger R/T. 11.78 @ 122.81
3. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 11.86 @ 113.63
4. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 12.04 @ 116.03
5. Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4sp AAR Cuda. 12.13 @ 115.06
6. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 12.20 @ 111.45
7. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 12.24 @ 112.56
8. John Suess. 1969 455 auto H\O. 12.36 @ 111.76
9. Mark Bowman. 1969 396 auto Chevelle SS. 12.57 @ 109.50
10 Dom D'Alonzo. 1963 327 4sp Impala. 13.05 @ 108.88
11 Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.72 @ 100.03
12 Dan Lyon. 1971 440/6 auto Cuda. 13.88 @ 99.08
13 Bill Corcoran. 1968 440 auto Sport Fury. 14.26 @ 98.35
14 Frank Hoefling. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 14.54 @ 95.24
-- Chris Corwell. 1970 454 auto Chevelle SS 12.68 @ 110.08. Couldn't continue after qualifying

Racing started with number one qualifier Bill Atwood Jr pulling his GTX to the line to matchup against Steve Tate and his AAR. The 440 had just too much for the smaller 6Bbl and pulled to an 11.86 to 12.25 victory.
Kevin Davey is up next to meet Hal Oaks. In a very close race Kevin's Challenger was just able to nip the Chevy II by seven hundreths with a 12.10.
Tom Tarzwell is next up to face the Formula S of Rhett Moody. In another close race with Moody hanging tough to the end and just getting passed at the line. Moody's 12.28 just behind Tom's 12.05.
In the last of the first round matchups John Suess puts his 455 against the 72 Demon of Ralph Barbagallo. John was a few tenths back in qualifying and tried to make up for the performance disadvantage at the light. He bit a but too much tho and watched Ralph run a 12.48 while putting on the big red light.

Round two starts with points leader Tom Tarzwell going against number one qualifier Bill Atwood Jr. Tom and his Duster have had Bills number all season but Atwood would get a little revenge and stop Tom from increasing his points lead. The GTX ran the quarter in 11.75 to Tom's trailing 11.99
The other second round pairing brings number 2 qualifier Kevin Davey against number four Ralph Barbagallo. Points aren't awarded in qualifying, and in the race the small block of Barbagallo had enough, as it always seems to do when it's needed running a 12.08 to Kevin's 12.12

In the final Ralph again finds himself the underdog this time against number one qualifier Bill Atwood Jr. The Plymouth comes in with a .3 second advantage over the Dodge so far today and that might just too much for the underdog small block to overcome. The Demon gets a slight lead at the light, but the GTX has big MPH down track. The Demon streaks down track but the X is coming. At the line Ralph's Demon lights the board with a strong 12.00 to Bill Jr's 12.05 giving another underdog win for Barbagallo.

In the first of the consultation races Rhett Moody brings his 4bbl 340 to battle Steve Tate and his 340 with 6Bbl carburation. Rhett always solid at the tree and on the track was so again dialing up a 12.31 which was plenty as Tate had issues early and coasted through with a 19 second time.
The Wile Hal Oaks is up next to go against John Suess and his H\O. John barrelled down tack to a quicker 12.15, but Hal took the big Oldsmobile at the light and got the win with a 12.25.

In the consolation final we get Rhett Moody and Hal Oaks. These two have been going nose to nose for years with recently Hal getting the best if the Mopar of Moody. That wasn't the case this time However as the Barracuda ran a12.25 that trailered the little Chevy as Hal could only muster a 17 second run.

In the best of three match races we had Mark Bowman and his 69 Chevelle SS beating his Chevy stablemate Dom D'Alonzo's 4 speed Impala with their best ETs being 12.55 and 13.05 respectively.
Bill DiCicco driving his 68 Road Runner paired up against the multicarbed Cuda of Dan Lyons. Though Dan is learning the game of Supercar racing quickly DiCicco had just enough to get the win with the Beeper going 13.72 to the Cuda's close 13.88.

In the final matchup of the day, Bill Corcoran and his 440 Sport Fury and Frank Hoefling driving his 383 Road Runner get it on. Today it was Bills day to win his C body clocking in with a best of 14.25 with the 383 not far adrift running consistent 14.50's

After a day of points mixing racing the scores now look as such;

1. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 257
2. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 241
2. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 241
4. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 225
5. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 223
6. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 GTX. 217

Lebanon Valley Dragway is once again the setting as the season comes to it's zenith .The Supercar Shootout is down to it's last three races and the driving team of Tom Tarzwell and Gary Constagna have a 16 point lead over the only two racers with a chance to unseat the 73 340 Duster from the spot it's held from the first race. Either Ralph Barbagallo and Hal Oaks need to mound a charge starting at this race or the Duster will be uncatchable. Before anyone can score point though they must qualify. Here's how that unfolded ;

1. Ted Daros. 1969 396 auto Nova SS. 11.12 @ 125.94
2. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 11.64 @ 120.62
3. Kevin Davey. 1970 440/6 4 sp Challenger R/T. 11.81 @ 123.89
4. Tom Tarzwell. 1973 340 auto Duster. 11.85.@ 113.78
5. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 116.86
6. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 12.19 @ 111.74
7. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 12.21 @ 112.73
8. John Suess. 1969 455 auto H/O. 12.44 @ 112.44
9. Steve Tate. 1970 340/6 4 sp AAR Cuda. 12.48 @ 113.74
10 Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 13.72 @ 100.30
11 Dan Lyon. 1971 440/6 auto Cuda. 14.06 @ 97.83
12 Bill Corcoran. 1968 440 auto Sport Fury. 14.06 @ 97.02
13 Dom D'Alonzo. 1963 327 4sp Impala. 15.27 @ 73.35

With the pairing set it's now clear that if the championship is going to go anywhere but to the team of Tom and Gary, that the Duster has to lose in the first round and either Hal is Ralph teed to win the event. Let's see how they all did.
First to try to win his way to the top of the championship is Ralph Barbagallo. His 1972 340 Demon has been near unbeatable the second half if the season. All he has to do, coming from his number five qualifying spot , is to beat number one seated Ted Daros and his 10 second Nova. In the traps it's the Chevy with an 11.24 ending Ralph's championship hopes.
That leaves just Hal Oaks with a chance to catch the Duster. His opponent to remain alive is Bill Atwood Jr in last year's champion GTX. Hal's Chevy II runs a 12.39 but the GTX went 11.89 ending the round, Hal's hopes if winning a championship and made Tom Tarzwell and Gary Constagna the 2017 SuperCar Champs!
But the racing isn't over, next up Rhett Moody brings his fish to the stripe to face Kevin Vanishing Point Davey. Rhett gave it a good try lighting up the scoreboard with a 12.31, but Kevin's Six Pack got there first with a 12.11.
Finally new Champ Tom Tarzwell takes on John Suess and his sanitary H/O. The Oldsmobile ran a strong 12.58 which kept him close while watching the Duster cross the line in 11.95 seconds.

Round two pits Kevin's Challenger against Ted Daros' ground pounding Nova. The Chevy couldn't get down the track leaving the door wide open for the Dodge who posted a 12.14 on his way to the finals.
On the other side if the ladder the familiar rivalry of Tom Tarzwell and the junior Atwood face off again and again Atwood can feel that thorn in his side as the Duster reached the finish line first even with a slower 12.09 to the B body's 11.98.

In the Finals Tom makes a statement that he is the champion this year for a reason and takes the win over Kevin Davey's Challenger 12.26 to the Dodge's 12.47.

The consultation round has 4 equally ballenced cars with the first two up being the 340's of Ralph Barbagallo and Rhett Moody. Rhett as always runs well but his Cuda is just pipped by the Demon putting Barbagallo into the C finals.
Hal Oaks will be facing Ralph after disposing of the 455 Oldsmobile of John Suess.

In the Consolation finals Hal peddeled his Chevy II to a 12.40 good but not enough to get by the Demon Ralph takes the consolation trophy.

In the best if three match races Bill DiCicco wins 2 out of three with his Road Runner vs the Cuda of Dan Lyon and Steve Tate took a three race sweep over Bill Corcoran.

With just two races to go and the top spot sewn sewn up this is how the points stack up;

1. Tom/Gary. 1973 340 auto Duster. 287
2. Ralph Barbagallo. 1972 340 auto Demon. 268
3. Hal Oaks. 1967 327 auto Chevy II. 267
4. Rhett Moody. 1968 340 auto Barracuda S. 251
5. Bill Atwood Jr. 1970 440/6 auto GTX. 245
6. Bill DiCicco. 1968 383 auto Road Runner. 237
