I have learned a valuable lesson...............Don't tease Ted and the Karma gods are ALWAYS watching. Do you think this could be an issue?

Just the gasket, no other damage, was at LVD and notice coolant was low, filled it up thought is was just low from burping into the catch can when it heat soaks. Go back up yesterday and make one run and I'm sitting in the staging lanes and pull the breather cap off and milkshake city. Was running fine so limped it home watching temp gauge all the way. Did a compression test and all cylinders were 135, pulled the plugs all but number 6 looked fine. #6 had white like deposits on it, So connected air line to cylinder 6 and put 130 lbs air pressure in the cylinder. watch the coolant slowly push out the radiator neck. Should be ready for the 27th. The funny thing was I was VERY close to driving it to Canada, but hadn't got my renewed passport back until yesterday. :shrug :-D

I am very glad that it is only the head gasket. I am sure that I am one of many who would have come and got the car with a trailer had we heard from you.

Gaskets should be here Thursday, I have disassemble and cleaned one head and halfway done with the second head. I figured since they were off might as well make them squeaky clean. Should be able to fire it up this Sat. :pop :runaway

Car is done, :cheers drove it about 20 miles today, when it was apart i dropped a 160* thermostat in it so it runs cooler, about 190* at 80 mph on highway. Idles at 180*, I was going to head up to Ralph's Cruise-in at Burger King tonight, but got recruited for poker game. I'm going to drive it a bunch tomorow make it heat cycle. Should be A-OK, So the slower half of M&M racing is a go. :hungry

Going up Friday to the test and tune, see if tuning all eight cylinders is better than seven. :pop Should be fun. Have you been back since the carb linkage went south? :bang
