Hey Ralph you could always switch over to vegetable oil on the Cummings pull truck, with all the race tracks you go to... they would have plenty of fryer oil, fill up at the track and on the way home shoot french fries out the tail pipe :-D

Pretty much spot on there. I traded my wife's mountaineer for the Mustang with the V6 two years ago. Essentially it averages 10 MPG more than the mountaineer and on the highway around 65 MPH it is getting 28-29 MPG Best thing we did.

I have two four banger Subaru Legacy's that I use for work. I drive 63 highway miles one way to the office. The GT gets 27 mpg and the Outback gets 28 mpg (taller tires) traveling at 75 to 80 mph. I have been jones-en for a CTS Caddy and now with the CTS Coupe I am double Jones-en for one. All the articles I have read indicate that these cars with the six cylinder AWD get around 18-20 mpg they are EPA rated at 25 highway. I am now spending around $100 per week on gas just to get to work so I really don't want to spend much more. Anyone have experience with the Cadillac V-6 for milage?

Incidently, my wifes Crossfire is good for 25 mpg under the same conditions but I find it uncomfortable for me and it is useless in the snow. My daughters stick Neon may soon be for sale which gets 39 mpg but at this point of my life I am also looking for more comfort. Any ideas?

Shawn my friend also: The Caddy CTS V6 is available in both RWD and AWD versions. I am not sure about the Supercharged CTS V 565hp? V8 that may be RWD only.

Shawn, After I reread your last post I realized that I had no need to educate you. :argue You were simply stating your friends Caddy is a RWD.

Some other notable mileage champs I own:

1968 Jeep J4000 Dually with 455 cu in Buick and 4:88 gears - 6 mpg
2002 Gulfstream Motor Home 8.1 liter Chevy - 6-9 mpg towing
1970 Nova 440cu in Big Block 5:13 gears - 3 rounds pit to pit and it's about dry
1969 SS427 Impala stick 3:73 gears 7-9 mpg

How was that Mustang to drive this past winter? We have a 98 Mustang Cobra stick and it would hardly move in the lot with an inch of snow on the ground...it was fun trying though :runaway
