Hi guys I'm new here and have a question since I believe you know more about such matters. I have come across a used set of G70x14 bias ply tires that look to be in very good condition. The only problem is I could not find a DOT code on them. They are Wide Trac Custom Classic tires with a code on them that reads 4HX 115. I called a tire dealer who was helpful but he said that was not a DOT code. The seller, who owns a small restoration shop, does not know how old they are but he said they came off a show car and he has had them for about a year. He wants $400 for 4 of them. Do you think I should gamble or just pony up and buy a set of Firestones and be sure of my tires? They are going on my '69 road runner. Thanks
