Thanks to all that attended Hemmings Muscle Palooza 8, the day was great, BUT VERY LONG! After talking to Hemmings, even though they had a lower Drag Car count than Spring Palooza and had run two days of racing, it seemed like the day was never going to end. Supercars again had a great location for the fans to come over and mingle with the cars and racers they love to see year after year. We want to thank everyone that participated in the communtity lunch we hosted. The food was great, and the company and laughs that we shared created memories for life. Being located in the direct path of the staging lanes made it the place to be. Racers and fans enjoyed seeing cars like Ty's Awesome Camaro, Ted's LS6 4 Spd Chevelle, Bob's All correct 1966 Fairlane, Chris's Duster and the countless others that parked in our "Car Show" style pit area.
The competition was tight for the most part. The Majority of the racers were running low 11's, which made for exciting competition and proved to be a great show to watch. Congrats to Dave Dudek for running the Quickest E/T ever in a Stock Appearing MUSCLECAR, or any car for that matter!! Some of the other racers to note were Dave Finns Maxxy, both the Lombardi's and Canadian crew brought some of the nicest iron in the country, and, without any fear, they showed all what these great Musclecars were built for.
After months of racers like Ed Cook asking "where are my SuperCar T-Shirts?"- We finally completed the project. With OVER 60 Shirts SOLD (final count to come), Ed Kusinski's artwork proved to be a BIG hit at Palooza for the Fans of the cars we enjoy to race!
With SuperCar Logos on most, if not all the cars in the pits, it felt like a SuperCar Event. Given the long down time and unorganization, this was not an experience most of the racers that attend a SuperCars' event have ever had to experience.
Last, but not least, and most importantly, SuperCar Races lived up one of it's most important Core Values at Muscle Palooza 8: "Actively participate in giving back to the community". SuperCar supporters, racers and fans donated $80.00 to the Make A Wish foundation through T-Shirt sales and donations. T-Shirts were selling at a bargain $13.00 for L & XL and 14.00 for XXL and XXXL. the Grand Stands, Pits and Show area was filled with SuperCar T-Shirts.
Thank you Hemmings for a great event..
