I have everything but a cam shaft to build a pure stock motor. I have a camshaft that is a .600/.600 248 at 50 solid roller and the lifters for it. Would you build a slow supercar/f.a.s.t. car or go ahead and get a pure stock camshaft?

I just want to race heads up and I understand the cars are paired together based on et.

I just think it would be embarrassing to race a 426 hemi against a small block in a fast/supercar class.

For my motor so far I have:
mopar iron heads
mopar non world block
manely rods
diamond pistons
kellog crank
dick landy roller rockers
1966/1967 distributor
1966/1967 carbs
1966/1967 intake
indy push rods,
indy timing set

pretty much everything

so which direction would you head?

build what works within your budget.........you will have fun at the supercar shoot out no matter what your E.T. is!

you will be matched with a close competitor and have a blast with the 2-3 match race, and a Q8 car is just as much fun too....i have had both so i know!

keep in touch here, and work towards your goals....which can be ever changing

:aok

Like Ted recommended, build a car with in your budget. I also second that, because, over the winter, I too made some changes, and, quite possable had the slowest car in the field. Although I had a blast, I realized that my combo was 100% stock and thats all she wrote. You'll have fun with a slow car or a fast car, doesn't matter what the engine size is, they all look stock from the outside, good friends and good times. :aok

I have been thinking of putting the combination together with the roller camshaft, but I am concerned with the rules. As far as pulling vacuum if it has too and the sound level. I will need to read the rules a little more.

A SuperCar stock cubes build would be the way to go with the parts you have. (if you don't stroke it) You will have plenty of competition in your E/T bracket. FYI, the current stock cube Hemi record is 12.61 @ 112MPH owned by Billy Atwood and his 1969 Hemi 4Spd. GTX. Billy's GTX is not a max effort. I am sure if you build a stock cube Hemi you can get it into the mid elevens without all that much cash.

Also, when and if you go Cam shopping, we have the best ever cam guru on the payroll. Let me know of you need his expertise.

We have been very focused on car count and series name recognition, we are very excited to say we have seen a significant increase in car count, web traffic, forum traffic and participation after every event. With all the success we are seeing in SuperCars, we plan on giving and adding recognition for stock cube builds on the web and in certification.

so if I build it as a super car / fast car I can do head work and run an electric fuel pump.

I have my road runner up for sale and I am wanting to buy an original hemi car to race in the class. I am a die hard 4 speed guy. I am not shopping for an automatic or a 4 speed car, but whatever may catch my eye. Is there a larger advantage to one over the other in the sense of having to run the legal size tires?

Auto would work better out of the hole, a 4Spd will be fun to wheel :gears

Remember the tire is a big part in SuperCars. Can't run the "poly slicks" or have "junk in the trunk" in SuperCars. E/T's are earned and meaningful in SuperCars.
