Ralph I would like to be able to say "After I took it apart I was kicking myself because it look so good!" Number 3 main now that is a 3/4 groove bearing. The crank looks perfect!

The mains truly are 3/4 groove and no signs of heat at all. |

Something introduced itself at one time and did its damage. Other than a set of bearings life should be good to go. |

Yes, new flat top pistons/rings which are 10 grams lighter. Also going to have the rotating assembly balanced. Not sure how well it was bal before. Also timing chain set and the cam bearings need replacing. u |

I think the pitts in the bearing are from the water when it popped a head gasket. Water cavitation can erode metal. Seen it on boat propellers |

It was align honed when Blueprint Engines originally built it. This short block is an interim short block. It's .040 over and cast Scat crank. When I go for the throat I'll use the other block. I'm sure the balancer failing wasn't very nice to the bearings.plus it's almost as old as the burnt orange RR! |
