Made 9 runs at LVD, track was a touch slick it being opening day and all. Right off the trailer it ran a 12.26 at 113 with a 1.98 60' the rest of the runs were 12.20's except 1 which was the trained monkeys fault. Ran one 12.10 at 112 with the only respectable 60' of 1.75. The best the car has ever run there was 12.47 IIRC Happy with it, it stayed together and ran well. :pop

Good job Rhett, you have a substantial improvement. It should get faster as the motor gets more passes.
What ET did that brown road runner get?

Rear tires are legal, but in the good zone. I'm sure you heard about the tech guys giving me grief about the fronts. I was told that any tire that was into the wear bars was a no go! I was allowed to run this one time, but would need to correct that issue before returning. I was planning on getting two tires anyway. Musclepooza should prove very interesting for the tech guys. :pop

So I go out and adjust the valves and start the car. It starts to make noise, sounds like an exhaust leak, but can't find it with my stethoscope! Find out it is much louder near the opening for the oil fill. Pull the plugs and they look fine. Bore scope each cylinder no obvious issues. Check the lash, no issues. Run compression test 130 all cylinders. Spin it over with the plugs out no noises. Run it again. Noise getting LOUD! Something going downhill fast. Run it with valve covers off. Very loud! Then start thinking, wait a minute the intake manifold gaskets you used had the cross over passage in them, with the bottom of the intake mill off....... But I made little plates to support the old gaskets.....doh!!!!!!!!

Was playing around with the car and I wanted to determine when and how fast the secondary air door opened at full throttle. The air door is completely tied to rpm, you can't feel it open and I had no idea when it started to open and when it reached full opening. So I rigged up some LED's. The right light is on with air door closed. The left light is air door fully open. I was surprised to learn it starts to open at 2500 rpm and is fully open at 3000 rpm. Only taking .73 of a second to open fully. I would have thought it was much more gradual and higher in the rpm.
