Funny!

I have no ET goals. I am not looking to run 11's and and she will run what she runs. 12's would be nice.

Update:

Rhett & my friend Jim came over yesterday to work on the Sport Fury. We had a lot of fun pushing the car out of one garage bay over the lawn and into the next bay and on to my ramp style lift. We got the car up on four jack stands ang removed the tires and wheels. The rear differential swap (3.73 sure grip 742 case)was completed by Rhett except for the brakes, which still need to be reinstalled.

The disc brake conversion was partially completed. Just need to install the calipers, hoses, metering/proportioning block and replace a brake line. It took some playing around with the adapter parts to get the rotor on correctly.

Thanks Rhett for your invaluable help!

The good news is the engine builder had the engine running on his run stand. The bad news is the rear main seal leaked. I am so glad I don't have to replace it. It looks like I will be picking up the engine at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in a few weeks.

It is progressing very slowly due to the number of things going on and also due to some of the hot humid weather.

Carlisle Events uses a slogan of "...found it at Carlisle". Well, I didn't find my engine at Carlisle but I got my engine delivered to Carlisle and a friend brought it home in his truck, but that is where it still sits due to the weather and some surgery my friend had last week.

I would really like to have the car running for E-Town but that may be a bit ambitious with all the little things that go with a drive-train swap.

I am tied up this Saturday until 2 PM, which pretty much kills the day and Sunday is out as well. A lot of family stuff at this time of the year. :x I REALLY appreciate the offer.

It is time for a brief update on this project and some current photos hence this post.

This project began almost 2 1/2 years ago was derailed by a long period of back trouble (1 1/2 years) and then took a different path earlier this year.

In March of 2010 the 318 drive-train was pulled and a few months later the engine compartment and front end was cleaned up and painted.

As of last night, I have the engine, a Nick Wilson / Compu-flow 520" RB pump gas engine in my possession. Nick only uses the best in his engines. The blueprinted engine build includes Eagle H-beam rods, Eagle stroker crank, Bronze valve guides, Smith Brothers pushrods, Competition Cams valvetrain and a custom ground Comp Cams camshaft based on the flow numbers for the Stage II ported 452 heads, 3.73 rear gear and the projected weight of the car.

To get this project finalized, I think that I am going to have to take some time off from work. I thought I would post some photos including where I started, where I currently am and of course, of the nicely wrapped up engine as it was delivered.

I'm very jealous of your progress. I guess I should update my page too.

I want to give a big shout out to Rhett for coming over Saturday and getting the disc brake conversion and line replacement done. Just need to replace the rebuilt master cylinder that had not been used yet that started to leak and did a number on the nicely painted booster :x

Bill Atwood should have the tires mounted for me and hopefully has my transmission on his schedule. Progress is being made even if it is slow.

I picked up the wheels and tires last week from SuperCar HQ/Auto Service of Old Saybrook. The red lines look great and I hope the car looks good with red lines and full wheel-covers.

Billy Atwood has gone through the transmission and I am picking it up tomorrow. I have a bunch of little parts ordered and on their way but still have more to buy. I need a money tree and a lot more free time.

Getting close....

Just time, money for all the little parts and finding the parts needed like a 2 grove crank pulley and bolts and a big block power steering pump bracket for a Federal pump. 4 Summit boxes arrived today but there are still more parts to obtain.
