Here is the latest updated on my car:
I brought the '68 Sport Fury home last night from my friend's house who did the additional paint and body work to make the engine compartment and a few other areas of the car look worthy of representing full-size MOPAR C Body's in the SuperCar series. The engine bay looks great. I am very pleased with the work that I had done, which probably looks better than the rest of the car that is wearing 12 year old paint.
Last Saturday, a friend came over and helped me get the 383 engine out of my shed and into the garage. The 383 had an automatic transmission attached and thankfully, my 1981 Ford 1900 diesel tractor has a strong front loader that was up to the task of lifting and moving the engine and transmission into the garage. Even with a couple hundred pound wood chipper attached to the back of the tractor for a counter weight, the rear axle was a little light with all that weight hanging up front.
After carefully power-washing the 383 we removed the transmission, as I have another one that I want to use for this project. The engine is currently on my engine hoist waiting for me to remove the torque converter and get it on to an engine stand so some disassembly, new gaskets, pumps etc and correct manifolds can be installed. Then the engine will be ready for paint and detailing. At this time, I'm not sure if the car will see track time this year as there are a lot of little things that are needed after the engine and transmission have all the work done on them that I want to do before they are installed.
Lastly, I found freshened rear diff center section for the car and hope to be able to make a purchase tomorrow.

The fuel issues appear to be fixed.
. She would also look real cool at the NHRA Nationals and the NHRA Reunion @ NH.

It would be neat to see a 12 second car with fender skirts.
