Before I update this build, I have to give a huge THANK YOU to Rhett for helping out (and for heading over this Saturday, 10/12).

The engine is pretty much together. The motor mounts, fuel pump, power steering pump bracket and water neck are the only things that come to mind as needing to be bolted onto the engine. A little more wiring also needs to be done.

The car is close to being on the road and it kills me to know that it is doubtful that the car will be ready for LV event.

The plan is to get the engine between the fenders on Saturday and get as much done under the hood as possible. I want to hold off on putting the transmission in as I have a line on a better converter for a good price.

I really appreciate the positive comments on this build. It will be interesting to see if 345HEMI has his his RoadRunner on the road before I do as it appears that we are both getting close.

Update:

I want to give a big shout out to Rhett for his help this Saturday.

Thanks to Rhett & my son, the engine is between the fenders, the oil pressure gauge and tach are also in and just need to be connected. The line lock is also wired up.

I picked up a lightly used torque converter on Sunday from a friend and as soon as the ARP torque converter bolts arrive, the transmission will be ready to go in. After that there is still a lot to be done; exhaust, ignition wiring, carb, starter, fan, alternator, PS pump, radiator, trans lines etc. Then I need to adjust the torsion bars and get the front end aligned. I wish I could have gotten the car done for LVD...

Update: Thanks (again) to Rhett for a major assist in getting the transmission and lines installed and the mini-starter in place. We also started mocking up a temporary exhaust with 2.5" NORS Walker head and mid pipes. Progress is slowly being made but there is still a lot of under hood and other work to be done.

Rhett, I didn't know that you took those pics. Thanks for posting them. The ECU will also hide under the battery tray, bolted to the bottom of the tray in a nice cool location.

Now that I can actually get to my garage without having to dig my way through 3' of snow, Rhett and I have been picking away at the fuel system and a few other things. We are close to being done under the car.

Rhett fabricated a fantastic driveshaft loop that mounts to the back of the transmission crossmember. No one makes one for a full-size MOPAR.

I am heading back out to the garage to pick at the engine accessories.
