Ralph, how do you powershift a four speed? Do you have a line lock to keep you in place when you stage? How tricky is it to do a burn out with a four speed?

thanks, JA.

Power shifting, :gearsalso known as speed shifting is; Gas pedal to the mat, once your mill reaches its shift point press on the clutch without lifting on the gas pedal and quickly pull the next gear. :aok If your equippment is up to par it's pretty easy. The hardest shift is 2nd to 3rd. Burnouts with a four speed are best done with a line lock in 2nd gear. If you don't have a line lock, at the track I can give you some pointers.

I miss rowing gears on the track.

Well said. And if you are driving my 68 GTX, the glove box door flies open to just keep things interesting

Ralph, thanks for the help. I hope to learn how to drive my car like it should be driven...thank you for the pointers. I do plan on adding a line lock to my car but I figured it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to learn and practice how to do it without it just in case it goes out on the track or something (murphy's law). Burn out in 2nd gear, makes sense :o I took my car out for a drive today and I have a few bugs I need to work out :bang Thank you again Amigo.

I now have a benchmark :aok . The Road Runner in 100% Stock form ran a best E/T of 14.18 E/T @ 98MPH ( 4053 Lbs. with driver and 7 gallons of fuel). Before I make any major drivetrain changes, my plan is to continue to work on the new comp plus Hurst shifter and tranny. My feelings are with some more fine tuning on the tranny the Road Runner will break well into the 13 second time zone.

The Road Runner is all shined up and hanging out at Old Saybrook CDJ for the Summer. She's ready to go for the second half of the 2010 season and five races we have schedule starting in August.

I know I said keep the blackwheels before but painted looks much nicer, but I'm just saying.

I'm hoping to make the Nov race at Atco, NJ later this year.

later alligator.

If the Rallye's are not an option, the painted steelies are much better looking than the black wheels.
