the zl1 started as a complete 700hp pump gas motor that i purchased really just for the block and maybe the rotating assy.
couple pics of motor progress over last 2 or so years..it killed me to take it apart!! Edelbrock heads etc not exactly supercar legal!
The rotaing assy and heads are going back into a cast iron block for sale.

more..
checking volume of new pistons...they ended up about 3 ccs smaller than i hoped. Compression will still be 14.25 or so to 1. If i get different heads as mine ended up with abunch of cracks i will make sure that chambers make up for it.

i plan on working on this and taking more pictures as i progress so stay tuned!!

The mustang is a hertz rent a car from hertz in orlando. i rented in July 2006? i think it was. I disabled the traction control and went drag racing.. it ran 13.8 something in 96 degree florida heat. It was great fun..the srt next to me is my friend Robs who lives there. It broke into 13s also stock.

3 more.
The 66 chevelle is owned by my cousin wayne. It was owned by my friend Pat for years. Pat passed away and Wayne was able to purchase. He purchased a 540 short block and i assembeld the motor and put it in just the way it had looked 5 years before.
The 98 camaro ss was mine. It had only one option SS. no power anything, 6 speed.. fairly rare cloth seats too. It really ripped..it went 13.42 on dried out origianl goodyear gscs. Totally stock 48000 miles with a replacement corsa exhaust. it was purchased site unseen from AZ and was perfect! better than expected. I guess the 69 camaro being a turd balanced it out??
Had to sell it to help pay for the ZL1.

Ryan
