It is true. My engine builder Ted (TedEd) is building a 1969 GTX Hemi. His plan is to have the car out in late August early September of 2010. One of his very good friends Harry (GTXBlue) I am sure can give more details. Ted was going full steam on the 1968 RR you see for sale in the Swap section and decided to lighten his load and sell two of his cars and keep two, one to race in the SuperCar ShootOut and a 1965 Hemi Coronet to cruize the streets and shows. Ted has owned the GTX since new and has raced it in Stock Eliminator upto the mid 80's.

Ted is a wizard with Big blocks and loves to build Hemi's. Ted Built the 440+6 in my RR, the Hemi in the HP2 and the 10. to 1 pump gas Hemi in the Black RR.

Mike, Ted oversaw most of the machine work on the 340 that is going into the Demon and now Chris Kuskowski is doing his magic putting together the 340 that is going into the Demon. I felt that the "Small Block World Record Holder" was the right person to assemble the 340 for Sharleens Demon. Also helping with the build is a long time small block pro Jeff Patterson. Jeff owns a 1971 Duster 340 car that runs in the sub 11.60's in $hitty air. Jeff scienced out the internals on the build and like Chris loves plastic carbs :aok . Look for the Demon to be at Frank Marrattas auto show in February next to your Chevelle and ready to run in the Spring of 2010 with Chris and Sharleen behind the wheel.

Things are going to go pretty quickly on the new build. Ralph wants me to post a build thread and I will. Would have started but the first few pictures are on my PC which is now in my attic while I remodel my basement. Don't fret. It will be fully documented.

The block was mocked and checked for clearance, while the cyl I prelim checked didn't make contact I stuck the carbide burr in there just as insurance. It goes alot quicker when you have done this many times before.

I hope to have the crank in this weekend and start on the pistons and rods right after.

Now I just gotta make sure I don't confuse the hardblock with the spackling compound.

Just kidding, no hard block but lots of spackling. On the walls of my family room of course. :sick
