Well,
Slot car racing and collecting go hand and hand for me.
I make a good part of my racing money selling my hand wound
motors, as well as a small restoration business I run restoring
Aurora Thunderjets.
Slot car night is fun and a lot of laughs. My favorite part of the night
is the open class where you all run your own creation in the start of
the night. I have enjoyed racing on Tuesday nights for a few years
now, and thought I may loose out this year due to the knee.
Friday proved to be the countdown for the knee. April 6th is the replacement,
as well as some possible bone grafting due to the bones pounding for so long.....
and two bone ulcerations the usually bond new knee to.
Anyway, looks like I may miss the opening of the racing season, except from a
spectator level.
With that being said, the R/T continues its winter freshening and will surely be
exciting for me to pilot when able. I will be looking to earn a few stickers,
as well as a hat or two if warranted.
We'll see if we can make the single four barrel wedge move........
A couple shots of my 1963 Thunderjets that will turn into a stroked Megablock
when the R/T bores me again....D-out.....
