After a long hiatus that included kids little league, installing a new deck in a ski boat, enjoying said ski boat and a few projects around the house I found an opportunity to jump back in.

Some stuff happened in the background. My short block is almost complete. Based on a 1970 010 4 bolt block I had it zero decked and bored .030 over. It features an eagle 3.75 stroke forging, eagle rods and some older speedpro -12cc forgings. ARP bolts and some GM windage tray studs.

The cam is a Mike Jones custom roller installed with a Cloyes chain and button. The heads are out getting cut to fine tune the chamber. The compression will be just north of 9.5 to make for a reliable pump gas combo. Some of the hardware is probably overkill for the power I will be making but I want something rock solid.

Now we are getting somewhere......

I finished the engine build with some minor hiccups along the way but that just took up time while I was waiting for parts. While waiting I rebuilt the Super T-10 which was in remarkable condition inside. I installed new blocker rings, bearings and seals anyway. The comp plus shifter was rebuilt long after I took it all apart without photos, so feeling my way back through assembly was fun.

My kid helped me drop the assembly in last night which was a piece of cake.

Next up is to get the wheel houses and front hardware off to the sandblaster while I take a die grinder to the ex manifolds to do what I can.

More progress. Exhaust manifolds prepped and painted. Accessories are on, radiator boiled out and painted, shroud cleaned, engine bay harnesses all rebuilt.

I'm typing this in between coats of black on all the bumper bracket components. These 74 cars have one heavy bumper mounting arrangement that really cancels out any weight savings of the aluminum bumper beams. I probably could take weight out but considering the pedigree will keep it all stock.

I have now amassed 3 Edelbrock 1902 quadrajets for rebuilding...... That is coming up soon and other than the exhaust, one of the real big items needed to be completed before first fire.....

Haven’t seen an update in a while. Waiting to see this on track. Any time soon?

Installing a line lock now.

It's amazing the difference in tire technology you see when swapping out 200 treadwear 17's for bias ply's, especially on a car with a tight suspension. And now that I mention it, I don't think the Hotchkiss suspension is going to be helping my 60' times.
