I am for expanding the model years with the 200 HP or greater requirement. This way it keeps it somewhat competitive and keeps Billy and Hal from match racing their all original AMC Pacer

PSMCDR have made the decision to allow 1975 to 1979 Muscle Cars with 200hp or greater to participate in the Pure Stock Drags. Cars like Mopar "A & B Bodies with 360 & 400 ci, 455 Trans Am's, Can Ams, 400 Trans Am's and Formulas, Laguna Chevelle SS Etc. We like this and would like to change our cut off date to 1979. What do you all think? |

I think its win for everyone. Why not allow the 1975 to 1979 SuperCars? I would love to build a 1978 Magnum GT 400 Lean Burn that runs in the 11's with T-Tops N a CB Radio.

There are lots of cars that would be excluded because they didn't advertise 200hp minimum including my Pacer and probably the Magnum No? But I am good with the idea.   I am against anything from the 90's and up though.

I think these years were excluded simply because the focus had shifted from performance to economy. There are many soldiers that would do great from these years. I like it! |

Great idea, will add diversity. Too bad the 77'-79' Z28s had under 200 HP, and Ford put a 2bbl on almost everything in that era. |

Would love to see a '79 Chrysler 300 with the police spec 360, some Lil Red Express Trucks (if a truck exception were made). mid '70's V8 Monzas', Fire-chickens (Trans AMs) and some Cobra II's and others mixing it up. This might help bring in more participants and may help get some other participants with slower cars to have more fun with a larger number of smaller cars. Plus, as pointed out, some higher compression stroked engines in some of these cars would turn some heads. The Pacer isn't going to make the cut but what was the HP on the late '70's Hornet/Spirit based V8 AMX? I say do it! Maybe I won't be the heaviest car running anymore. |
