Any of the later model V8-powered AMXs (77 Hornet AMX, 78 Concord AMX, 79 Spirit AMX) would be out because they were all 304/2 BBL cars. The 80 Spirit AMX is totally out as it only came in a 6 cyl (258) version.

I wish they had put a 360/4 BBL in a gremlin. The closest is the 304/2 BBL early Gremlins. Any way you could make a "concept class" where cars are built the way the factory SHOULD have built them? you could get a Hornet with a 360/4 BBL in 71 (AKA- the Hornet SC360). I'd love to build the equal to it in a Gremlin. :)

By the way, you could also get a Pacer with a 304/2 BBL in the later years. Good thing you have the 4 BBL rule. Otherwise, you could build a killer Pacer sleeper with a 401!

These years are hard with most brands.

Sounds viable to me, I have a 1975 Cordoba, a bored and stroked 440, automatic transmission with a manual valve body, and correct rear end with 4.10 gears all sitting in my garage right now, or I could use one of the two magnums. Maybe I should have said sounds good to me.

Tom do you have a Magnum GT?

..and I recently sold a nice stock 1979 Trans Am.
Amazing what a 2200 stall,an aggressive advance curve and having full throttle can do for the old "smoggers"
Would have been a fun car to run.

Ralph, No Magnum GT but the 400's were available in both GTs and XEs for 1978.
I can put a 400 stroker 75 Cordoba on the track without too much trouble.

Correct GT or XE. Can't wait to see the Cordoba.
