Plan on having Lenny build me a torque converter and hope to get the swap done in early Spring. Will need some help getting the swap done. Thankfully, I have a lift and a tranny jack. A new torque converter with a lower stall speed should make a big performance difference if I can ever get the car to hook up.

Just let me know when, I'm sure I could free up a few hours.

Good news, the block is ok!

Now for the rebuild.

So now on to the chevelle, ive not done much but am starting to get motivated out of fear of time constraints :bang

Good to hear. Keep us posted on both. You only have 70days to get this done. I know for you that seems like years  . Post some pics of the Chevelle and Nova Mill when you have a chance.

Get the convertor ordered now so it will be here for the spring. Once you have it we will put it in for you. Going to also have to change your Flexplate bolts.

Thanks Bill & Ralph.

Ralph, can you tell me what flex plate bolts that I need or should I just have Lenny supply them if he has them.

AARP Hemi Flex plate bolts. Then you'll give them to Rhett to sand them down  .[/size]

I would have thought that this issue would be more well known if the arp bolts hit the converter most of the time. I'll sand them down for you, it doesn't seem to change the strength of the bolt. Just makes it more important to have a flush face socket and have it really square when tightening them. :pop

I'm going to finish my 72' this spring, come hell or high water. I've already been working on the front fenders and hood. It is getting repainted, needs it. But, a bit of a twist - will be changing the color at the same time. I am not in love with the current color, really prefer it Mulsane Blue with White stripes instead.

Parts are getting completed and are coming in. Driveshaft is done, Tranny cooler is painted and ready to install.

That is FUNNY! The real funny part is when I was a little kid and had a hook I played the trombone in the school band........ Well actually I played the trombone AND the cowbell. Every time I moved the slide the hook would hit the horn of the trombone....... DING!!! DING!!! But as we all know you ALWAYS NEED MORE COWBELL!!!! :pop
