New Hood and Wheels to the painter next week. Then when the money tree blooms next month, tires. For June exhaust manifolds to coater, intake manifold at porter, pull motor throw on some Chevy Orange, put everything together with new stock radiator, get some pulleys, rewire a charging system get a carb or steal one from the Belair, install exhaust system and misc other stuff. I hope to have it at the track in August. |

I'm glad to see you're making good progress. It makes me want to upgrade my ride so that I'm not slipping any further down the food chain with everyone getting faster all the time! Good luck with it Hal. Kevin |

Good luck with it Hal. Kevin Kevin, thanks a lot. Being that you drive your car to the track. There's a lot to be said for that. |

I am starting to think that God never meant for box Chevy IIs to have V8s. A sawsall made quick work of removing the Hooker headers and 4" exhaust. http://s763.photobucket.com/user/Oldfartracing/library/ |

Exhaust manifolds are a real tight fit. They are going to have to be slid in with bolts pre-installed. I guess plugs will go in from the bottom.

On the left stock Q-Jet intake on the right Brzezinski modified intake. Supposed to be good for 21HP. <a href="http://s763.photobucket.com/user/Oldfartracing/media/CAM01073.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/Oldfartracing/CAM01073.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo CAM01073.jpg"/></a> |

That looks like it will be a HUGE improvement. My interest will be in how to make the Quadrajet work with the plenum divider removed. |

I'll start with the Carb setup I use on my Belair and work from there. Maybe some in car Dyno time. I plan on installing sensors in the exhaust too. I know Oval track racers swear by this mod. Makes lots of top end power while sacrificing some bottom end. At 2850 lbs. losing bottom end should be a good thing. I hope to have it figured out before building the big inch motor next year. |

I did the same thing on my intake. It just made it more important that i get the rpm up a touch before i launch. Just enough to get the air flowing through the intake. |
