Ralph, I had hoped for August and missed that so at this time I am not going to rush it. With only two racing weekends left, I will focus on having it complete before the snow flies. I still need to buy a radiator, some interior pieces, carb exhaust and tires. Right now I am leaning towards white stripe tires for a different look. If it comes out nice enough I could show it this winter.

Sounds good I was hoping to see it before the end of the season on the track. I like the white streaks. What size? I think F70-14 would be the right looking size for the Nova. G70-14 would give you a bigger foot print but I think they would hit.

Three weeks and no money. The money tree doesn't bloom so well in the fall. I am buying the G70s I think. The fronts might hit on turns if so, and I can't devise a stop, I will put them on the Belair which needs tires anyway.

Looks like you are really close to finishing the shoe box.

I see the left front corner of an early '60's Rambler poking out in the background. Would love to see a photo of that car.

Bill, You have some eye. Yes it is our long term retirement project. A 1963 Rambler American 440 Convertible. Most all mechanical work is done. We have lots of hard to find NOS trim parts for it. The car is for Karen.

A Great looking car that looks very solid. Not too many of them left. Can't wait to see it when it is finished.

Spent today on my back. Cleaned and painted the floor pans with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. The stuff works well. I coated the Belair 14 years ago and it still looks good under there.

Now on to the fun part next weekend, motor installation. :aok

Second time is a charm. Put the motor/tranny in yesterday with two helpers. Then found I needed to "Adjust Something". Pulled it out this morning and got it reinstalled by myself with a little help on the cherry picker by Karen. Hope to make progress this week if I am not too tired after work.

Thanks Jeremy Benson for lending me a tire and wheel. You saved me $1000. G70-14s are just too fat for the little Chevy II. Although I may still have to build up the stops even for a smaller tire, clearly the G70s hit on full lock turns. These cars must have a really small turning radius.
