My two "kids" reunited. My father used to own both of these cars.

What are your plans for it?

Already starting to gather some parts. Ground Up has had a few sales lately, picked up a new fuel tank, tail light bezels, and outside door handles. Also got some much needed sheet metal pieces, original alternator brackets, and a bench seat. (The previous owner threw the original seat out. :bang )

Got a lead on an engine block, going to see if I can make a deal Thursday. The guy may have some cranks too, but I am torn on that. I feel I would end up with more money in a stock steel crank after having it reblanced and lightened up VS. just buying a new crank that is already internally balanced and light weight.

Thoughts? Leads on a good vendor for such an animal?

I found these guys: http://kingscrankshaft.com/index.html

I want something american made, not some overseas junk.

Nothing wrong with a stock forged crank for the level your shooting for, any crank thats new and cheap sounds like trouble to me!
Its a heavy car too

I hope to keep it under 3500lbs. Radio delete, no P/S, lightweight parts where allowed, bench seat, etc. Am I dreaming?

Ended up with a block a few weeks ago. 74' std bore 454. (289 casting) Dug up a carburetor as well. Still researching cranks, I kind of want something lightened and internally balanced.

It won't be super high compression or over 500 ci, so trying to get all the power I can while keeping it reliable.

I keep digging in the shop and finding things... yesterday a timing cover and HD radiator top plate.

Buying parts for this car is kind of on hold. I enrolled in a certification program at the local college. Classes start Monday and run through August. Need to focus on that and get it done. It just pains me to let the car sit.

Headed down a different path with this car... I decided to go pure/factory stock. Makes more sense dollar-wise for me. I picked up a spare HA coded block and correct cylinder heads. I'll be picking up the original matching numbers engine this Thursday. My father donated a BW ST-10. (2.64 1st gear, mid 70s vintage) Should have no trouble holding up behind a 300 HP 350.

I just have to find a flat hood and sell off the remainder of my BBC-speciffic parts.

I picked up a flat hood about four weeks ago. Just gathering parts here and there, going to do all the rust repair this fall. Still on the back burner until I finish the 72'.

Now I'm not sure about that. My father had to modify the shifter hump in his LeMans. I may try to pick up an M20. I had three of them at one time, sold them all thinking I wouldn't need them. :bang

Took the rear bumper off, going to see if I can straighten out this panel vs. replacing it.
