Must be some kind of trick heads as they changed color after they were removed..... I'd like to suggest that you run at least a WIX or NAPA Gold or equivalent oil filter vs. the FRAM. Might want to check with some others to see if a racing oil filter would be your best bet. Hope things go well on reassembly. |

Make sure the each lifter rotates as you spin the motor over by hand. I mark each one with a sharpie then after the rockers are adjusted I spin the motor with a wrench to make sure lifter turns. |

I know for sure the number one intake valve lifter spins. It was causing me problems degree inc the cam till I got the dial indicator directly centered on the lifter. Bill |

Not sure when you should or shouldn't remove the inner springs for cam break in. I did remove them when I broke in the solid lifter cam. 125lbs on seat 350ush over the nose. I have the shaft mounted valve spring compressor. |

I just look at the picture again. Does it have dual springs or a flat sheet metal looking spring dampener. I think I see a dampener. If it is one spring and the dampener break it in as assembled. after searching the topic it seems to come down to the majority remove the inner spring for insurance sake. It's not hard and I can help you do it. |
