Must be some kind of trick heads as they changed color after they were removed.....

I'd like to suggest that you run at least a WIX or NAPA Gold or equivalent oil filter vs. the FRAM. Might want to check with some others to see if a racing oil filter would be your best bet.

Hope things go well on reassembly.

Make sure the each lifter rotates as you spin the motor over by hand. I mark each one with a sharpie then after the rockers are adjusted I spin the motor with a wrench to make sure lifter turns.

Are you going to break it in with both valve springs on? Not sure what kind of pressures your running :pop

Good advice, I'll take it. I know for sure the number one intake valve lifter spins. It was causing me problems degree inc the cam till I got the dial indicator directly centered on the lifter.

Not sure when you should or shouldn't remove the inner springs for cam break in. I did remove them when I broke in the solid lifter cam. 125lbs on seat 350ush over the nose. I have the shaft mounted valve spring compressor. :pop

I just look at the picture again. Does it have dual springs or a flat sheet metal looking spring dampener. I think I see a dampener. If it is one spring and the dampener break it in as assembled. :pop after searching the topic it seems to come down to the majority remove the inner spring for insurance sake. It's not hard and I can help you do it. :pop
