Well... I am no closer to a solution. I have moved the cam around, checked, rechecked, etc. It acts and checks like the cam is 180* off. Almost like the dowel pin is installed in the wrong spot. I'm going to put the old cam back in when I have a chance, and take measurements. Then I'll have a benchmark to compare before I call the cam company back. :bang

If you have the intake off and get the timing cover off, can't you just look at the relationship of some lobes on the old cam to the index pin and see if they look to be in the same orientation as on the installed cam??

Hal, haven't pulled the intake yet. That's next on the list. Been working six days a week lately, hasn't left me much time to work on this. It will most likely be next Saturday before I touch it again.

I finally found the time and motivation today... it has compression now. Didn't start it, just cranked it and tested two cylinders.

I hope so Bill, my journey hasn't taken as long as yours. But, I have literally never driven the car in the seven years I have owned it. :( It gets very tough to stay motivated at times.

Haven't touched the car since October of last year. Uncovered it today and went over everything. I plan to get it running and break in the cam Saturday. I'm taking off a full week from work at the end of the month to try and fix all the paint issues and put it back together.

Got it running today, cam is all broken in. But, I managed to lean against the core support and cause contact between the fan and the radiator. :bang

Also found some small pin hole leaks in the oil pan after I shut it off. This crap never ends... :roll

That's most likely what I'll use on the oil pan. Found someone to fix the radiator for under $100 in Daytona.

Dropped off the radiator to be repaired today. It's going to be an $85-$125 mistake. (Plus tax) ::sigh::
