You would never know by the pictures, but I spent all day over at my folk's working on the car today. Man it is hot out there, 100+ with the heat index!

Hoping to hear this thing rumble to life by July 4th weekend.

A little more progress this morning before the rain. (It sucks not having garage space for this stuff)

I tacked some scrap pipe together and connected to my lead pipes. Just something to quiet it down enough so I can drive it to the alignment and exhaust shops. Only got the passenger side on today, local parts store let me down and forgot to pick up a 2nd exhaust doughnut. Anyhow, my crap-tastic "exhaust extension"...

Absolutely. It gets hot down here, and I don't like to sweat any more than I have to. Putting a tilt column in it next weekend too. I want to be comfortable when driving this car.

My new job hasn't left me much time to work on the car, but I took part of today and did just that. Had a bit of an "installapalooza." Today: radiator, upper and lower hoses, throttle cable, shifter handle, valve cover to air cleaner elbow, water neck, thermostat. Would have liked to have gotten more done, but was over there mainly to visit my folks. Plus I wasted time looking for things, and cleaning parts.

I am out of commission and unable to work on my car for awhile. :(

I tore ligaments in my right arm at work Friday morning. Going to have surgery this week and find out how long they expect my recovery to take.

Still haven't had surgery or seen an orthopedic surgeon. :bang Had an MRI last week, lots of damage. So, been doing silly little things to stay busy. I am so used to working 6-7 days a week, I'm about to lose my mind sitting at home on workman's comp. :runaway

It looks like your putting your down time to good use.

I enlisted the help of my 63yr father this morning. (Talk about feeling helpless) I had a plug and a heater hose nipple in my intake that were in the wrong places. I had tried to remove them before I got hurt and mangled them pretty bad. Between the two of us, we were able to remove both.

A little more assembly today...

However, the radiator in the car now isn't going to work for me. It is an ill-fitting POS. Nothing lines up, it doesn't appear to be right for this car. It is a replacement my father bought from NPD when this car was his. I was trying to look at what Ground Up has for my car, but no actual pictures of what they offer. Ted? Mike? Do either of you have a suggestion of where I can get a proper fitting radiator for my car that won't cost a small fortune? I need a 4 core, HD cooling, manual transmission, 1972 SS 454. (28" core IIRC)

My radiator should be here next week. I managed to crawl under it today and get the driveshaft installed. I am still out of commission trying to heal up from my work injury.

Here's my last update for about 3-4 months...

New, more correct radiator is in. (It fits MUCH better.) New top plate, correct for a 4 core radiator. (My car only had a 3 core factory.) Inner fenders are in, and the incorrect 67'-69' master cylinder has been replaced with the proper 70'-72' style cylinder. Also got the clutch Z bar and adjustment rod installed.

Should be working on it again in January, after I have healed up and gone through rehab. Going to wash it and throw a cover over it so I won't have to look at it while I am recovering.

I love watching all the builds being done as mine is coming along too.
