Hi bill ! Yes I know that the heads are illegal but am planning on driving the car more on the street than building a tech certified supercar. That being said, I too am sure I will be hooked once I have a race or two under my belt !!!

Ordered up the cam and lifters from Scott Brown today, he asked if I wanted to go faster than Ralph....not sure what that meant, but I told him to grind it up and send it! Should have it by end of next week. Assembly starting soon.....

My wife was nice enough to surprise me and bought me the eaton true trac rear end for my birthday. Hopefully this will help put some power to the ground. Heard good things about this unit, looking forward to getting it in.

Hi guys, rookie, novice, beginner, dave luke here!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Just wanted to post some info on my super bee build that I hope to have done by early spring. I have been talking to Bill Atwood about doing the drivetrain for the car and ended up buying an assembled short block from Nick WIlson at Compuflow. My car is a 69 real super bee four speed car in b3 blue. This is what i have so far:

528 inch short block flat top motor
Mahle pistons
eagle crank and rods
brand new six pack assembly
440 source stealth heads.....I can hear the rumblings now ....haha I know I know....
harland sharp rockers
Bunch of other stuff...

I plan on having scott brown do the cam once the final compression is done. Bill is going to do the assembly of the motor and continue to give me great advice and tell me how spend more of my money haha. The trans needs to be beefed up as well as the rear end so those are on the list too. Plan is to convert it over to A12 car once drivetrain is done, but is it ever really done.....? Any input on the build would be great. I sold the yellow roadrunner I had to sort of fund this project and have a car that I can bring racing once in a while. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I would like to thank Bill Atwood for having the patience talking with me, answering all of my seemingly endless questions and helping me out with what to buy, he has been great.

I will try to get some pics up soon

NICE CAR!!!!!!

Just another update....ordered up gears, forged steel yoke with u-bolts, and other rebuild parts from dr. Diff today. I figured while the motor is being put together I may as well get the rear end done! I went with 3.91 gears on the eaton tru trac and stayed with the stock axles for now, going off some other member's recommendations. Hope to have rear done next week!! weather giving me the itch for race fuel and burnt rubber smells !

Also have a newly delivered Mcleod Dual Disc RST clutch sitting on the bench awaiting installation. I am looking forward to completing the car, hopefully before the seasons end I will have it on the road and possibly to the track. My work schedule lately has had me running ragged, but the overtime is paying for all the parts.

:rock Thanks for the update. I had an RST in my 2001 SS, good grip, stockish pedal feel. Best of all, no chatter like the ceramic clutches. I think you will like it a lot. Can't comment on how long they last, I only put about 8K miles on it before I sold the car. To my knowledge, it has double that mileage now and is holding up well. (Sold the car to a former co worker of mine, and he hasn't called to complain)

so just another update.....MOTOR IS IN !! It is down at atwood supercar center just putting finishing touches on it. Bill was just putting in the MSD box today and hopefully we will have a running car within a few days. So motor ended up what I said earlier, 520 inch stroker with six pack on it, scott brown cam, stealth heads studded in, mcleod dual disc clutch, new comp plus shifter, 3.91 gears and switched the mufflers over to race pros. I am hoping that all goes smooth this week and I will be cruising very shortly. Again, thanks to Bill Atwood who does great work and is a super nice guy. I will post some new pics in next few days.

I plan on going with a six pack lift off hood swap over the winter months and face plating the trans. Other than that the car is pretty much done and where it needs to be. Hope to get it to track at some point to have some fun. Just need a truck and trailer now....more $$$$ haha

Lebanon valley isn't that far and with three weeks until the next race you shouldn't have too many bugs to shake out. :pop :pop :cheers

Def ready to get the car out! Bill took me for a road test yesterday and man, I could not be happier. Car sounds great and runs awesome. Slight traction problem though....

Going to try and work my schedule to get to Lebanon Valley in few weeks. I have never raced so it would be a great experience for me and a great opportunity to tune the car.
