With the Demon, 1970 Burnt Orange Road Runner and HP2 ready to go for 2013 and the 1971 Road Runner waiting to have its exhaust completed next week it's time to move to the next SuperCar build. A 1967 GTX 426 Hemi 4Spd. factory 4.10 Dana car one of only a hand full for 1967. The car was originally a 440 4Spd 4.10 Dana sold new at Bancroft Chrysler Plymouth out of Worcester Ma. I have the #'s drive train BUT, want to go racing. The build will be a "Stock" Build following SuperCar Stock build rules. The plan is to do a complete mechanical restoration similar to the Demon.

Ralph: It looks like one of those GTX's I used to spank regularly up on the Berlin Turnpike. :stir

Seriously, I like that GTX a lot.

GTX Build update. The plan was to have a Billy Atwood powered HEMI Pure Stocker. Billy diagnosed the the problem as a bad cam. number 5 exhaust lobe was gone along with a mushroomed lifter. After 10 yrs the issues was resolved in an afternoon. In the theatre of my mind being this was my first and only HEMI build, I thought I had done something wrong when putting together the elephant. Thanks to Billy for his expertice and use of knowledge :bow

When I assembled this build I used and 11' bell housing and had issues with clearence of the starter to the exhaust manfold. The fix was to use an exhaust header flange as a spacer. I Bought a set of them from :bow Akron Arlen Vanke 8 yrs ago. He even signed them for me!

A couple of small issues left to do and back on the road. For now the GTX's racing career will be on hold. Cruising will be in this GTX's future very soon.

Does Mr. Katters do AFBs for old Pontiacs too? Need to get one redone for the old man's 66' GTO.
