It's been a long time since my last post so I guess it's high time for an update! So here we are, facing the last 2 races of the season and with the exception of a rain out and missing one trip to Cecil, G2 has been to all of the races. With upwards of 50 passes this year for both the car and rookie driver we are both holding our own.
Driver: Goal for the year is to be the most improved Rookie of the Year. Considering all you guys have a lot more experience under your belts it looks like Rookie of the Year is within reach since I think I'm the only Rookie!!! All kidding aside I have learned a lot. And there is a lot more to come for 2014...
Car: She's the prettiest slow car out there if I do say so myself! Her best pass of 15.20 was recorded by Billy Atwood taking her for a test run at Cecil. My best run in her was a 15.21 so I guess the driver isn't too bad after all.... A couple of months ago she started to bog down at somewhere around the 60 foot mark and then takes off to run good on the top end. Our last weekend will see some new parts which include a new distributor and carb. If she starts purring after a tune up maybe we can really see what that 440 can do!

And for 2014: I'm sure most of you have heard about and also seen the next ride... It's a certain Sassy Grass 71 GTX! Funny this is G2 went up against the 71 on her very first pass at Englishtown this year! Who knew she was running against her replacement!!! Time to be thinking about 2014 Goals..... Maybe there is a quick 8 in my future!

Thanks to all you guys for being such great sports and a bunch of fun to hang around with! Maybe some day you will see me pass you instead of always being able to wave to me in your rear view mirrors!

Queen, I only managed to attend one race plus one rain out this year but we have talked about racing a bit over the season and I have to say that your enthusiasm is infectious and I hope that your positive experience motivates others to see what SuperCar is all about.

Like myself, you are venturing down the road of a faster car and I wish you luck with that project and look forward to our new builds being side by side on the track next season.

It's a deal Bill! I believe we share a common Mechanic (and it's not Bill S.!) so we better get him going!

In addition to Bill A., Rhett has done so much work on my build that one would think that it was his car. If you have not followed by build thread, the engine and trans are in so she will be ready for next year after I get her down to Bill A's for some tuning etc.

Congrats Kathy on all your accomplishments this past year. You have earned the Rookie of the Year name plate. Watching you at LVD last weekend bump the RR/GTX into the lights and then leave hard brought tears to my eyes. You got it and get it done. I can't wait till 2014. You and your 1971 GTX will be one of the ones to contend with in 2014.

For those that don't know about the Queens new ride. The first time I saw the 1971 GTX was in PA at a NEHOA meet owned by the president of NEHOA this GTX wears most of its original paint and components. After Tom was done with the GTX he sold the car to a SuperCar Racer Andy and then the GTX was purchased by a Ford Dealer in NY and then sold to Billy Atwood. When I spoke to Andy this past summer at Carlisle and told him his old GTX was being traded one last time to Kathy n Bill he was very excited to hear the news. The GTX still has its original Motor, Tranny and Dana Rear. The original block has been tucked away for a completely new 12.5 to 1 440+6BBL Power Plant, Porter heads, Compu Flow bottom end and Scott Brown Cam all put together by Billy. Look for the Queens Ride to be on the strip in 2014 if not sooner.

Yup Ted, Kathy started the year running 16.90's and cut that to 15.20's to date. Next year she will be putting many of us on the trailer. I know she's been taking names :sick .
