Hello Shawn,

Si, the motor is alive and ran awesome. Added all the fluids and fuel, put in a good battery, a little fuel down the center carb, and wham it fired right up!!!!! It sounds fantastic! Once it fired it didn't shut down til' I turned it off. No backfires, no hesitations, nothing! Temp and oil pressure were fine. Although I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought because I was too busy checking for leaks, temp gauge, oil press. guage, wiring, etc... All in all I'm a happy camper! My buddy next to me said he really enjoyed the show, LOL.

Happy New Year, Juan.

Wow, I figured it would be a roller. Rule restricted? Or? Just curious. I bet you are chomping at the bit to go for a "spin." :-D

I am building a factory/pure stocker, and already dying to drive it. My shortblock is done, waiting on cylinder heads currently. Keep us updated! :aok

Actually for what we do a Flat tappit works very well. When you're ready to talk cams (Flat or Roller) you need to give Scott Brown a call he is amazing with figuring out Stock n Stock Appearing cams for the group. What is your build going to be? (Car, Combo Etc.)

I already bought my cam from Crane, they are local to me. I dealt with Jerry and Dave. I gave them all of the details, and we tweaked the Blueprint LS5 cam they sell. Hoping it works out well.

Build is: 1972 SS 454 Chevelle, heavy pig of a car. (air conditioning, power steering, bucket seats, console, etc) 4 speed, 3.73 12 bolt posi. Engine is a 4 bolt main 3999289 casting LS5 block - .060" overbore, NOS GM steel crank, Howards I beam rods - stock length/weight, Speed Pro hyp flat top pistons, 3999241 casting heads, Manley SS valves, 6263753 casting LS5 low rise - cast iron intake, 7042215 QJet - Cliff Ruggles will be handling the rebuild/resto, 1112052 distributor with a Pertronix kit and coil. Exhaust manifolds are the correct 3989310 & 3989343, Pypes 2.5" mandrel bent lead pipes. I'll be having a 2.5" mandrel bent system with Magnaflow mufflers done locally once it is running.

No problem. The tuning should not be an issue. Traction on the other hand, :shrug , I'm still trying to figure out. I wish I could say get a set of 28x10 M/T et streets and call it a day :roll . What are you using for a clutch and tranny?
