Howdy,
I started the car up for the 4th time this weekend, and I actually drove the Bee around the neighborhood and smoked the tires a little! I had a couple folks honking at me. I think the charging issue is fixed; I had the field wire from the engine harness connected to the ground not the field connector on the back of the alternator.
However, a couple other issues came up as I was driving it.
-the engine temp climbed to over 200 degrees-I think the radiator hoses maybe collapsing on me
-the car won’t start up after I’ve had it running for awhile
-the exhaust is bumping against the drive shaft loop causing a rattle
-the throttle linkage sticks every once in awhile-I have to use my foot to lift the gas pedal
But on the road the car feels like a rocket…I mean smoke the tires at anytime, the best part is sitting in the car while I’m coasting down the road. I can hear a deep rumble from inside the car…it reminds me of the sound from the CH-47 Chinook helicopters I use to ride in from my Army days…sounds like a turbine engine…must be all that compression, I love it!
here is another link in case the first one doesn't work.
