screwed, glued, or not....whats the best option and when should we worry about this?

and metal valve stems of course, right?

When mounting the tires use some type of adhesive. Make sure the rim surface where the bead sits is NOT painted/smooth, it needs to be rough as well as a light sand to the bead of the tire. This will allow for the adhesive to get the teeth it needs to do the job. Use metal valve stems.

If you are using used tires Make sure they have adequate tread. look ofr any cracks in the sidewall or the treads. If the car has been sitting there might be one area that has more cracks related to a flat spot. Make sure they are balanced.

I've heard of using weather strip adhesive (yellow 3M snot stuff :sick ) it's supposed to work real well. I have not had to glue any of mine yet. the HP2 may be the first one I glue.

This post is to educate people on safety. Jeremy, I don't think the Roll bar was directed toward you or me. I think people need to know. I also know that, you and me both understand if we run sub roll bar E/Ts we may be told to slow down. We at SuperCars have no position on enforcing any safety rules. We are very aware of safety and want everyone to know what is needed and required. At last years Ice Breaker, I was told to keep my E/Ts above 11.499 and I did. I am OK with that as you are :aok .

Ralph, thank you for clarifying. Recent posts had left me unsure if a change had occurred.

This thread is meant to offer information to novice racers , experienced racers and those that don't know which one they really are.
Some people seem to be worried about what is NOT required. This is NOT the "Point" of this thread.

Offer some good advice or don't post.

The next topic we will get into will be fuel systems, as some people need some help there as well.

What works the best is an aircraft adhesive by 3m. The Right Stuff by permatex works well too.

it must be a pain to remove when the time comes.....but if its safer, or helps with traction so be it!

my left rear tire moved on the rim, not much though, i think it will happen more so i will glue!

i know a few drag radial guys who have gone in the 8's using the right stuff by permatex. and yes it is a pain in the rear to remove tires after using the stuff. that is why my drag radial car had bead locks on it.
