Ralph,
Not for anything, but aren't your welded mufflers against the rules also? Thats 20 points in deductions. Does that mean the '66 isn't certified or that it barely is certified?

Brian

The SuperCar Racing Series prides itself on transparancy and a level playing field for all that compete in the series. This evening Brian Wilsey had questioned the mufflers on my HP2 and also if a car is at 20 points is it Cerified or not? To answer Brians question, the Mufflers on the HP2 are welded mufflers. The Strut Rods on the HP2 had no attempt taken to look stock, they are not painted or disguised in anyway. Both of these infractions do not allow the HP2 to be Certified until the Strut Rods look stock appearing or the Mufflers are changed to non welded.

All PM's sent to SuperCar races are kept private. In this case, I wanted it to be known that we are all held to the same standard. No one is above the rule.

I am going to be making the strut rods look factory appearing before the next race.

The rules committee would like to acknowledge the following rules infractions. The SuperCar Series prides itself on being the premiere Factory Appearing Muscle Series.

Ralph Barbagallo 1966 Belvedere I HP2 426 Hemi Auto- Front Strut Rods Welded Mufflers
13.22 Aftermarket shocks, bushings and springs are OK, but must be painted to appear correct. No other aftermarket front suspension parts are allowed.
4.04 Mufflers must be stock looking in design. No welded mufflers allowed. Maximum muffler inlet and outlet is 2.5”.

Please feel to PM SuperCar Races with any questions you may have on the rules infractions posted by the racing series.

Please be aware of points deductions allowed by rules infractions, Infractions totaling over 20 points will result in non Certification. Points totaling over 30 points will result in TnT.

brian asked about the 20 point rule and it is "under 20 points to be certified", so 19 and under would be ok.

ralph is at 20 with 5 mufflers, and 15 for strut!

so no go for the cert.

Please, always feel free to question, and this case demonstrates how this should work!

We worked the points this way with values so any single big item or multiple small items will knock you out, but do it transparently so there will be no favoritism!
but also he would still be able to compete! up to 29 points anyway :-D

another thing, while teching i was told by a few racers what was not legal on their cars and they where small things with few points and we appreciate the honesty as the process is lengthy when there are so many cars as we had there, and it helps us!

This is why we have the points system for infractions! We no, no car is perfect, and you can have a few things wrong and still be good to go!
