Ralph/Ted, went to the machine shop this morning b/4 work. Tiny took some measurements, and after futher review it seems that my 454 .060 over is actually .085 over . Thats no good. So back to square one, unless I fill it with hard block, and put a blower on it. Can I do that and run it at least to get it in the 13's and over 100mph??? Mike |

in my experience most big block checys (454s at least) can go easily .100 (4.350) or .125 (4.375). I have had and assembled for others many 4.375 bore motors without hard block and had great results. one of them was 1/2 filled for a friend that did his motor same season as mine....mine had better leakdown #s its whole life without hard block and maintained great bore roundness as well after many hard N/a and nitrous passes. If you think that block is now junk (454?) i wll gladly take it! ryan |

In the Chrysler world 60 over would be considered a good street motor that may over heat. |

Thank you for some good advice, I am always looking for a second opinion...The block is a 4bolt cap hi-pref pass motor. Could let it go REAL cheap, could even bring it to the valley if interested. Ted, i'v been meaning too call you, but when I stored your number in my cell I lost one digit. Resend it if you could or I'll see you on the foliage -run.... Mike |

Sorry guys the car won't be there but we might be. Mike, it's a BBC, so don't worry about meeting your et goals. I would keep the block as a spare or you could even use it. It just needs to be sonic checked. Ryan is right, you can build one .100 + over without the cement. There is alot to consider when using it, like comp ratio, rpm, actual cylinder pressure etc... Basically you need the block to keep the cylinders from moving. |

I won't be able to make it Ted, Eugene is going to try. I think we will get another kick at the can with the Camaro next weekend. We are staying local for now. |
