Hey guys, I just looked through the entire rulebook and found no mention of fuel cells or batteries mounted in the trunk. I assume the same rules apply as the discussion going on in the other forum?
The trunk is a non inspected place. I can simply throw a cell and a big honkin battery in the trunk and all is right with the world? Hide the cut off switch until I am in the staging lanes, throw on a magnetic "push off" sticker on next to the switch and be both nhra and supercar legal.?.

Not completely ironed out yet but as far as batteries are concerened.....

10.01 The battery must be retained in the correct location, be functional and securely fastened down with original style hold down.

This is the identical rule for both Supercars and FAST. A functional battery produces 12V when completely disconnected. A dummy battery does not. Therefore battery "relocation" is illegal.

Wow. I read those rules completely different than you.
Is that the rules we are sticking too? As long as it shows 12v no load it's good? Doesn't say it has to start the car correct? There are plenty on 12v power sources that weigh less than 1 lbs.

Thanks guys!

How so? I thought it was pretty cut & dry which is why I responded but perhaps my take on it is off base.

P.S. There is more to come as far as trunks and battery disconnects go. We just need to wrap it up. Stay tuned. ;)
