Hi, I'm new here (although I've met a few of you) and I'll probably have a few questions as time goes by. First, I was wondering about the rule concerning fuel lines between the mechanical fuel pump and the carb. I have gathered from reading through the rules & posts on this forum, that an Edelbrock carb is OK to run in place of the AVS that my 383 came with originally (it's long gone). I'm currently running a 750 Edelbrock Performer with the choke removed (air horn still in place). Since the Edelbrock only accomodates a 3/8" fuel line, would it be OK to fabricate one that mirrors the original 5/16" line in terms of bends and placement? I suppose there is some sort of adapter available, but I haven't located one yet. I know I have other options, but I thought I'd ask just to get my foot in the door....

Can't wait to try this!

Craig

Hi Craig welcome to the SuperCar Series :winner . Fine Lines carries the adaptor you are looking for. We ran into the same issue you did and bent up a line to work. So you can do that as well. What are you building? Again Welcome and Post as often as much as you would like :aok ....

PS have any pics? lets see them.

Thanks Ralph...Here's a pic of my 'Runner...Mark introduced us at Carlisle this past summer. If only I could get him to enter the '71 R/T he bought from you into the SuperCarRaces!! I'm working on it...His would be the first 3 speed stick car, right?

A couple more questions if I may...Can the exhaust be mandrel bent? Also is there a minimum number of races that one should be expected participate in? Of course, I'd like to attend them all, but that's probably not possible...

There'll be more questions I'm sure....

Craig

Nice car, love the steelies and dog dishes.

There is definately no minimum attendance. Come out when you can.

Mandrel bent exhaust is legal and is the norm. 2.5 max pipe size.

Welcome!!

Very nice car Craig :winner . I can't wait to see it in person. I agree we need to get Mark to an event. Once he releases the clutch I am sure he will be hooked. I think that may be the reason he is staying away. Mark's 71 Challenger came out great :bow ! Craig how long have you owned the Runner? Tell us more about it....

I'll work on him!!

I've had it about 3 years...It's a nice low mileage 4 speed with the 3:91 High Perf Axle Pkg. It's the next best thing to a six pack or Hemi car. It's got all the goodies found on those cars less the engine and dana... It runs awesome. I'll probably have to make a change or two to be in compliance with the rules, but we can go over that stuff at the first race. It's cool you let the first timers break the rules a bit to get their feet wet!

Craig
