Anybody here do any back to back testing between an H and an X pipe with manifolds?? I wonder if they work the same with manifolds as with headers. I've got a TTI kit on my car with an H pipe but have the H-section setup as a simple drop out that could be swapped with an X section to try. I suppose the only way to find out is to do it. I figure its a $100 experiment for a universal X-pipe kit from jegs and some trigger time on the ole Lincoln MIG. |

I believe dudek did an article in mopar muscle with this swap many years back on his challenger |

I know there was an improvement. Finding the exact # would require me to go through my massive stack of magazines which would take about 5 times as long as the swap itself, lol. Chris, I picked up a 69 superbee that will someday in the distant distant future will be built for the class. Right now I am just accumulating parts. Did I mention it will be distant Really interested to see how the 4v setups do next season. |

Darrell is building a Killer 440 4v So you will get to see what the 4V will do with four cars next year running the 4BBL (Greg, John, Harry and Darrell) Also John is going to the TnT tomorrow at LVD. The goal is to get the Bee back to the way it ran last fall. I am wondering why you chose to not run a 440+6? |

Yeah, I'd definately opt for a A-12 clone for the hood and the CFM. |

I've done 2 different test, one on a 426 Hemi and one on a 484 Hemi with basically the same results. Below 5700/5800 the X was better in HP and TQ above that the H was better. At about 5300 to 5700 they were almost dead even, so on the street the X would work very nice, but you have to ask yourself how often are you below 5300 on the track? I run an H-pipe on my car. |

Dave thanks for the info. I would of bet money the X pipe was better. I am ready to purchase the Exhaust for the HP2. Who did you get your pipes from? |

I got the pipes at Miami Muffler. It`s stainless steel 2 1/2 mandrel bent. |
