I have a 1970 440 sixpack cuda show car. It ran 13 30 on street tires. I am now having a set of stealth heads, hp manifolds, and 6 pack intake fully ported. I need advice on the lower end. How big is to big for factory hp manifolds? Camshaft, stroke, etc? 3000 stall 410 gear 727. Thanks Rick

Sounds like a common build except for the illegal heads. There is no limit on size with manifolds. You may want to consult with Dwayne Porter on this, you will find his info in the friends area of our website. With 906 heads we have builds at 526CI go low 11's.

That's great information but I'm really hoping someone will share some cam specs and stroke on 440 base engine. Along with quarter mile or 1/8 mile runs. I went to order a cam but they recommend me stayin with my 509 cam I already have and that bigger stroke with hp manifolds won't give me gains. I'm kinda lost building a restricted engine.

I'm sure one of the 6 bbl guys will speak to this but with my small engine I'm running a custom Scott Brown solid lifter cam in the .550/560 range. I'm pretty sure the better flowing set ups are well into the .600's.

509 is old technoligy that doesn't work any more. Dwayne Porter or Scott Brown are the ones to talk to about cam profiles and grinds for what your looking to do. Give them a call.

Who did you call? Not very many people know or care to know what cam works with manifolds. It is definitely outside most people's comfort zone so they guess The people listed previously understand what we and you are trying to do. They also are very easy to talk to. Dwayne Porter patiently answered all my stupid question. I'm a small block guy, so no concrete numbers. I would be very surprised if you reached the max potential of the manifolds before the power reached an absurd level for the street without a HUGE! tire. In a sb mopar you run out of cast iron cylinder head flow before the 340 exhaust manifolds. With sb being 444ci Intake is more of a problem but not for you sixpack.

I spoke with Comp Cams and 440 source. If anyone has their phone number I would appreciate it.
