On Saturday Oct 6th, we are scheduled to run the Drivers Challenge race at LVD. Here are my thoughts on the format.

Your dial in will be your quickest qualifying run rounded to the closest hundredth.

The ladder will be based on a numbers draw.

Pro tree handicap starts.

Winner is the car that gets there first without going under their dial. If both cars go under, winner is closest to dial

Bye runs will be determined by quickest reaction time in qualifying or the last round. Only one bye run per competitor.

First round losers go into Consolation bracket. So everybody gets qualifiers plus at least two competition rounds.

This is not a points race. Sunday will be normal program.

Thoughts and input please.

Plan B

On Saturday Oct 6th, we are scheduled to run the Drivers Challenge race at LVD. Here is Plan B on the format.

Winner is the car that runs the closest to the dial under or over.

Bye runs will be determined by quickest reaction time in qualifying or the last round. Only one bye run per competitor.

First round losers go into Consolation bracket. So everybody gets qualifiers plus at least two competition rounds.

I think the dial in of the car should be the average of your qualifying runs minus on tenth of a second.
Will the drawing of numbers be for every round or just the first? So break outs are legal as long as you are closer to your dial in?

I think you draw once and that set the bracket, the bracket sets the pairings from there

Plan B is more of a “car challenge” than a “drivers challenge” picture Hal’s Belair that runs within .01 EVERY TIME and now he has NO chance of losing to a better reaction time.

The Belair is not in the Picture. This is for the Nova.

I was thinking, the ladder will be set after the first draw and then a second draw for the losers in the consolation. But if you guys want to draw each round in both the winner and consolation brackets, that is OK. too. It could be fun that way if you don't know ahead who your gonna get. Hopefully we get a good number of cars to make it interesting.

I like the draw every round. Mixes things up

I like plan B better. I don't like having to worry about being under since I'm all over the place time wise more so than probably anyone else.
