On Torque Converters:

If a 13" is OEM, a 12" is allowed within the 1" rule, correct? Thanks.

Correct.

11.00 Drivetrain:
11.01 Automatic Transmissions: The transmission and torque converter must be correct for the year, make, and horsepower claimed. Torque converters must be within one inch of O.E.M. diameter and have a stall no higher than 2200RPM‘s. Unless documentation proving higher than 2200rpm.

As posted in my intro - I currently have a 3" dia. exhaust system on my '69 383 road runner with stainless steel tips. I will be placing a 2.5" system in the car. My question is this: to save some money in the short term would it be legal to use a 2.5-3" increaser/reducer so that I would not have to buy 2.5" tips? I will eventually get the 2.5" tips but was wondering what the ruling on this would be.
Thanks

No issues with using your 3.0 tips till you get the 2.5 tips.

Hello, I really enjoyed reading everyone's questions. I'm building a Superbee to have some fun with in the Stock Appearing Class but I'm already thinking about what to build for Pure Stock or I should I say what I can afford, LoL. I think it's great that pure stock rules from supercars are in line with the pure stock drags rules.

I'm in TX now and I miss being on the east coast close to all the good racing!

Take care, Juan. :aok

I couldn't see anywhere in the rules if the 68 Hemi Dart was allowed in Pure Stock??? It's late so I may have overlooked it???

Thanks, Juan.

2.03 Casting numbers must be correct for the year and horsepower claimed, including: intake manifold, heads, and exhaust manifolds. No Modifications are allowed.

2.04 Blocks do not have to be "numbers-matching," but they must be the correct displacement.

2.11 No after-market blocks allowed.

I just want to know if a person can use a Mopar Performance after market Hemi Block to build and race in Pure Stock? I might just be reading to far into it or something???? :shrug

Thanks, Juan.

Ralf, I have a few questions. My car is far away from being ready and Im considering going stock class instead of stock appearing.
My car is a 73, I dont have a 340 but I do have a few 360 blocks. Can I run it as a 74 ? They look identical.

Also, I have 2 blocks, a 72 and an 86 with matching heads. Do they need to be the correct year ? Theres no advantage to using any particular casting number when it comes to heads with small block mopars after they switched to the smaller valves anyway.

Adam Yes you can clone your Duster as a 74 and run the 360. Also block year doesn't matter as long as the displacement is correct. Before you do clone your Duster into a 74 look at carb and manifolds (Intake / Exhaust) make sure they are not even more restricked than the 73.
