I've been following the site for the past year or so. My name is Chris Pelagio. Been into cars for a while. My two year old son and newborn daughter have kept me busy lately, but I'm enjoying it. I've always thought that these musclecar drags looked to be the most enjoyable type of racing and have wanted to participate for a long time. Living in Rhode Island, the series that Ralph has put together is close enough that I may finally be able to participate. I have a couple of 69 camaros. I've always wanted to do a pure stock zl1 clone to race. I have the car, which is an original 327 rallysport, but I have yet to acquire a new 053 casting zl1 block. I have all the other engine parts so hopefully the block will come next year. I also have an L78 69 camaro pace car that I've driven to maybe one car show in the past three years. This car is ready to run in pure stock and I think that it is time for me to start enjoying it again. The 396 is built to stock 375hp specs, exhaust manifolds, and m21 4 speed. Being that it is a convertible, I would rather race a coupe but I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines. I see the pictures of the race results and it looks like you all are a good group of people with a common interest to enjoy these awesome cars. So, I'm hoping that in 2011, I can come out and have some fun. :drive

Chris

Welcome Chris......Ralph has put together a first class organization, and you could not find a better group of guys to race with.(I say guys 'cause we have no women racers yet).Anyway, hope to meet and see the cars at an event in the future....

Hi Chris, It's great to have you part of the Best Racing Series for Stock Appearing and Pure Stock cars there is. It has the best, helpful and most friendliest bunch of racers you can think of. Ralph and Sharleen have always promoted this at every race. We have our Points/Xmas Party :hungry :cheers this sunday you should come out and meet us. Look in the Registered Users Forum for where and when. Great to have you and hope to see you this coming season. We need more GM presence!!!!!!!!!

John

Hi Chris, It sounds like you have some nice stuff!! If you have any questions about the ZL1 stuff, Ryan (SSSCamaro) is very knowledgable regarding that combo.

Post some pix!

Hello Chris, You should definitely bring your car out and run it. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you go, you'll have fun and meet a great group of people. :aok :cheers

p.s. just make sure the cars put together right...you don't want $hit flying off like windshield moldings or lower crank pulleys :stir

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Mike, nice Chevelle, I'm sure I'll have some 4 gear questions for you.

John, I received the email invite from Ralph, but I have to work that day. Hopefully we'll all meet soon. Congrats on your top finish. Beautiful H/O you have there.

Andrew, I've followed Ryan's build and unfortunately his "unbuild". As a 69 camaro aficionado, I can truly appreciate what an incredible car that he's built. I'll try to dig up some of my pics.

Shawn, I still have to address a few things- driveshaft loop, might swap the original m21 for a spare, and a few other small details. I would be happy to run 14's, but I would be even more happy just to run it period! :aok Bitchin Mopars you got there.

Welcome Chris, great collection :bow can't wait to see your Camaros in person and meet you and your family. Let us know if you need anything from the group. You will have a great time, guaranteed. Between Ted and the rest of the boys you will be in good hands.

When you have a chance start a post on your build/s and I will give you a spot our on New Builds page for everyone to follow.

Chris,
I love you garage.
I bet you wish you still had that red LT-1 70 Camaro to fill the empty spot. (that was some college commuter car)
That blue RS is fantastic.
Merry Christmas!

Chuck

PS. I ran the Camaro @ New Dragway 10/29/10. The place was empty, maybe 40 cars. Off the highway, into tech, into the staging lanes, hot-lapped it 6 passes and was home by 1:00! 13.0's @ 111 stock w/2.1 sixty foot. The clutch hates me.

Chris, welcome to the series. I was new this year and had a great time with a great bunch of folks. 4 speeds are tough but a bunch more fun when you leave just right. Just run what ya brung and have fun.
