Howdy all! Yes, I'm new here and yes, I'm into AMCs! I should say that I prefer AMCs, but I like pretty much every brand. Besides AMC being my main passion, I'm also very partial to Mopars.

Here' a little about me. My name is Brian and I live in the northeast corner of Massachusetts (pretty close to New England Dragway, actually). I own a bunch of AMCs, but I don't currently have anything that would qualify for the races...either stock or stock appearing. The only car I have that WILL qualify (someday) is my 71 Hornet SC/360, but it needs a HUGE restoration. I'm in the process of trying to find something that is ready to race or can be ready to race rather quickly. I'm hoping to have the first AMC at the races. Even if I don't end up with something in time for the races, I plan on attending at least the ones at New England Dragway and hopefully the ones at Lebanon Valley. Maybe even the ones in NJ. I go to AMC drag events in Ohio and MD, so Jersey isn't that far for me to go.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. See you on the boards and hopefully at an event. :-D

Welcome Brian:

I love AMC cars too. I have a collection of Jeeps and a 63 Rambler American Convertible that I hope to finish some day. I have been looking at SC Scramblers for years. Stuff a 401 into that Hornet and come on out next season. :dragster

Hi Brian. As a neighbor of yours, I'm happy to welcome you to the group.

We met on a Moparts cruise a couple of years ago, I've got the white 70 Challenger. Are you still at Compass Auto? I work right around the corner from there. I've brought the Challenger there the last couple of summers for an inspection sticker and asked if you were around. I heard you were out of work a couple of times due to injuries, knees if I remember correctly.

BTW, do you know another Brian that has a bodyshop on RT 125 in Kingston, NH that's heavily into AMCs? My friend is having him do some work right now. Our main man Ralph knows him also.

Kevin

Welcome aboard!
I like seeing diff marques in the club!

Any questions fire away, theres alot of helpful people here and friendly competition!

And by all means get out in something while you build your main car, the best way is to see the diff cars and talk to the owners

Thanks for all the welcomes! Can't wait to get out and meet everyone! I miss racing as I haven't been for a couple years. I'm itching to get back.

I'm currently looking for something that I could run this coming season. For cars right now, I have:

AMCs
71 Hornet SC/360 (RUSTY and needs a complete resto)
77 Gremlin
77 Matador coupe
77 Hornet wagon (AKA- Sportabout)
78 Concord 2 door
81 Concord wagon

I also have a 71 Plymouth Scamp, 318/auto, Sassy Grass green with top and black interior. I may try to pickup a 340, 727 and 8 3/4 to have some fun with this. That is if I don't sell it to get another AMC. :-D

Hey Kevin! I'm not working at Compass right now. I broke both my knees within the last couple of years (the first on my wife's birthday. Happy Birthday, Honey!), so I took some time off. Now I'm doing the stay-at-home dad thing. I do know the other Brian in Kingston. He's going to do some paint work for me. He's a good guy. Trying to get either the SC/Rambler or Machine that are at his shop from time to time. He does have a couple AMX projects, too... Hmm...

I look forward to seeing you next year at the track, hopefully racing something. Broken knees  , ouch, sounds extremely painful!

Welcome Brian! No reason you can't run the Scamp as is as something to start with.
